My 1990 ford tempo started jerkung then gave out a few moments later

I see your car features both timing belt and timing chain...depends on which engine you have....would you check to find out please? This may be an "interference" engine meaning the motor is finished for a spell~

There were two engines for that year. A 2.3L 4-cylinder and the 3.0L V-6. Neither have timing belts or overhead cams. Which engine do you have and can you describe the failure in a little more detail please? Speed, sounds, recent repairs, etc.
