E-pedal and brake lights

Question type: General

Under maximum regenerative braking, do the brake lights come on?

No they do not. Tesla and Kia (Niro EV) both realized that under maximum regenerative braking, the car decelerates pretty fast and people behind you need a heads up that its happening. So the brake lights activate for those EVs. They do not for the Leaf.

@RenewA2 This is completely incorrect, and I'm not sure it ever was correct. The 2022 Nissan LEAF Owner's Manual clearly states: "The vehicle’s brake lights illuminate when the deceleration level reaches an ordinary braking operation ... The vehicle’s brake lights remain illuminated when the vehicle is stopped by the e-Pedal system." (page 5-23)
