I heard that only e80 gas should be used in a Ford flex?? Is that true?

Gasoline... Only e80 in the Ford flex???

Reading the owner's manual will give you information on which fuels you can use. You can use anything between E-10 and E-85 on the ethanol side, also you can use and regular fuel such as 87, 89, 91, 93 octane whether it has added ethanol or not. DO NO USE ANY DIESEL FUEL!
