Question type: General

when driving my 2016 Passat 1.8T, when brakes applied the engine hibernates and it take several seconds to respond again, why
I am a two-feet driver, left on the brakes and right for the accelerator.
While driving, city or hwy., if I apply the brakes while also applying the accelerator the engine stops giving power. When i take my foot off of the brake pedal, it takes up to 2 seconds for the engine to respond, why

The car is not designed for two footed driving, this was a minor problem back in the 80's with some makes, it was confusing the computer system when it saw a brake signal as well as a throttle signal at the same time, the cure was only using one foot for fuel and brake. So I'm sure is now happening. I use to do the same thing that your doing so I had to train myself not to do it that way.
