I drove through water a week ago in the dark and didn't see it. I got water in my oil and had to have it changed. Could it be possible that I got water in the transmission, too? Linda

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Can I check this out myself or do I need to take it to the shop where they did the oil?  They did a diagnostic check on it but didn't say anything about the transmission fluid.  They changed the oil (it was full of water), dried out the spark plugs and put in a new air filter (it was drenched).

I would have the transmission serviced for piece of mind.
