Can I drive with the Check engine light on?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The check engine light suddenly began to
flash as we are driving on an Interstate hiway.  
The RPM dropped to 1800 and will not
increase.

A flashing check engine light is warning you that the engine is misfiring and damaging the catalytic converter! I wouldn't continue to drive the vehicle! Catalytic converters aren't cheap!! Have the vehicle repaired asap! Hope that helps! Jim
