2011 Hyundai sonata stopped while driving

Car stopped while driving and all the
warning lights came on and the car wouldnt
crank. Mechanic said it needs a new motor
and would cost 2800 to fix. could this be
true and about how much would it cost to
repair it.

there is an engine recall from Hyundai on this, go to safecar.gov
