2010 town and country won't turn over

Asked by cohen May 15, 2020 at 12:11 PM about the 2010 Chrysler Town & Country

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My van would sometimes do this thing where I
would turn the key and all lights would come on
but it won't crank. It's not the battery or starter and
the fuel pump problem was fixed. It won't even try
to turn over. I used to leave it for a little while and
try again and it would start just fine. The other day
it wouldn't start at the gas station, after starting
fine leaving the house and Walmart, so I had to get
it towed. As soon as it gets dropped off in my
driveway I get in and it starts after not starting for
over 3 hours at the gas station. Now it's doing the
same thing. Chrysler is of no help. Its not the TIPM
because its not even trying to turn over. Please
help

Do you have a large/heavy keychain? If you do...it puts a lot of pressure on the keyswitch module. I see quite a few reports about this problem. So if you have a lot of weight dangling from your keyfob as you drive or have accidentally yanked on the keys for any reason while they are inserted into the keyswitch module.... this is something worth checking into.
