1999 honda accord no heat at all

Asked by Nov 24, 2014 at 05:45 PM about the 1999 Honda Accord

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

All of the fuses have been checked and replaced and work, but we have no heat at all no matter what. There is cold air but even after warming the car up there is no heat, the climate control buttons also do not work.

@crumbob Yes the blower does work

right amount of antifreeze does the knob work at all have you checked the wiring for shorts

@crumbob The knob works, the antifreeze is full, I was thinking it may be the wiring but wasn't sure how to check.

It's the cable that is operated by the round AC/Heater know on the dash....it becomes detached from where it should be held by a screw/clamp. You have to take apart the dash assembly to get to the cable, and reattach it where it belongs. That's the easy part....getting the dash assembly off is the hard part. There are screws you cannot get to without taking apart the entire console/stereo/radio assembly just to get to those screws. I couldn't get the console around the gear shift loose to remove it from around the radio, to get it out, so I could reach the last 2 screws that were holding the dash assembly on. See what I mean???

Above answer: I meant AC/Heater "Knob"...not know....

Jacob, the knob may seem to be working, but it is stuck on A/C mode because the cable has come loose from the clamp that holds it tight so when you turn the knob, it isn't actually moving the cable from A/C to Heat.

@candyla88 I will be trying your suggestions and will reply if they work
