I am considering buying a 2000 Passport that will only drive forward if the vehicle is in winter mode. What kind of repair is most common to fix this concern?

How hard are the solenoid to replace. Are the buried under the valve body? And what is the easiest way to diag

I would recommend that a tranny shop do the job, dirt is a major factor in this job, it only takes one little speck and your right back in there. You need a scan tool that has the capability of reading and scanning the tranny operating inputs and outputs.

I understand I am a Tech with 30 years under my belt and have a scanner just was looking for a direction as trannies haven't been my thing mostly engines. what source is there for info on the readings on the inputs and outputs? Mitchell, All Data which one is best for Honda

I believe yours is Isuzu not a Honda. I used Mitchell on demand in my shop, but to each his own. I'm like you, never did do much tranny work.
