2004 Gmc Yukon xl. Bought used. 1st can i use the Bluetooth w/out onstar service. 2nd how do i reset the security code it keeps asking me for?
You have to get a digital upgrade to be able to use it properly. Contact OnStar. The older versions are on an old system they don't use anymore.
The security code can be obtained at the dealer, they will need proof of ownership usually. As far as the bluetooth, I never could get my 05 Yukon to link, tried some of the stuff on the internet to make it link but it never worked. Called OnStar about it they stated that I would have to be a subscriber for the system to work.
I was told by onstar that they no longer update from analog to digital. And my yr model doesn't have bluetooth. So i have 2 more questions...is it hard to just get a newer onstar and install it? How can i make use of the mic and add bluetooth to my vehicle?
Contact OnStar see if they make an unit you can upgrade too. Or try someplace like CarToys, see if they offer something.
