I keep getting a whirling sound in my car when I reach 40mph and it lasts until I have gone past 55mph. Would you know the reason for this??

look it up in your questions/trouble shooting pertaining to the noise in your manual cuz, i dont have no idea what kinda a whirling noise ur talkin about???? belt???? is it a stik, try 2 b a little more specific next tiome u ask a ?, also look it up always in your manual cuz at the back of every car manual there are trouble shooting ??? and then there is the answers right undernieth the questions. try that one dude!

If it seems like a vibration more than an a actual noise, it's your engine mounts. Mine are bad and it vibrates from 40mph to around 50. As the mounts get worse, the noise will get louder. My car is 12 years old and my mechanic said for my type of in town light driving, if I can stand the noise, it isn't a must that they be changed. However, there's a change it could vibrate something else loose.
