2001 Dodge Grand Caravan

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Oil light started to come on when come to stop then went off when accelerated..  Then has come on and stayed on in long drives. Do have a leak but levels ok. Besides oil pump maybe going wrong. Dad says could be bearings going bad?!? has 200,000 miles.  How much cost? What is easiest way to figure what is wrong. Is it worth it? OR look for new vehicle?

Oil light is low oil pressure. Either low oil level, a faulty oil pump or a faulty oil pressure sending unit is the cause. Engine wear can be another factor. Have it diagnosed by your mechanic before you sell it.
