Sealed transmission on a Dodge Charger 2006

Asked by Kkgibbs Jan 05, 2017 at 09:14 AM about the 2006 Dodge Charger

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Should I attempt to add Lucas Stop Slip to my
2006 Dodge Charger. The engine is still strong,
tranny starting to slip but it's a sealed
transmission. What genius thought if this!? My
husband is worried because we are fighting gravity.
What if we remove transmission fluid and can't get
fluid back in even with a pump. I love my car and
don't want to get rid of it. Any suggestions?

I wouldn't put that thick goop in my transmission. How many miles on this Dodge? You never win fighting gravity.

Dodge actually makes a tranny slip product. It’s about $20 at the dealer, or $10 on the net. Whether to add it is a judgment call. I added it to mine 2 years ago and have been fine. While the system is ‘sealed’ you can easily enough add this 2 oz (to start) of the 4 oz. bottle with a funnel through the tranny fluid port (see picture). To gain access, use a pair of pliers, and turn 1/4 turn counter- clockwise. Use a funnel and pour it in. Good luck, friend.
