CONVERTIBLE TOP LATCH WITH REAR GLASS

Asked by Jan 31, 2016 at 12:58 PM about the 1998 Chrysler Sebring

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The convertible fabric attached to the trunk is not latched anymore to the rear
glass. That creates a huge gap between the rear glass and (shrunk) convertible
fabric. I'm trying to figure out how to latch them together so that my car is not
dumped with rain water.

If the fabric has shrunk then you have no choice but get it replaced, an upholstery shop should be able to do this job, a temporary repair would be using gorilla tape to pull it up as close as possible and then cross taping it until all of the holes are sealed, it is about the only tape than will last any amount of time with the wind pressures against it while driving, it won't look pretty but it will work for a while and much better than duck tape, personal experience talking there.
