PT means Personel transportation HHR means Heritage high roof
PT stands for part time according to Chrysler.
I have also read that the pt in PT cruiser stands for (Personal Transport) Cruiser
Originally, the PT Cruiser was to come out as a Plymouth product. It was originally to be short for "Plymouth Truck" or "Plymouth Transport". It's also a slight abbreviation of the original show car prototypes called the PRONTO Cruiser. When Daimler bought Chrysler (and ruined a great company), they got rid of the Plymouth brand and so the Cruiser was then shuffled into the Chrysler family - to become the "entry level" Chrysler. At that point, it was then changed to mean "Personal Transport"...
I think it stands for Poor Transmission since the auto's are weak. After 3 transmissions @ 71,000 Miles.. yep.. that's what mine stands for anyways lol...
stands for piece of trash....nothing but trouble with mine
pt actually stands for panel truck for chrysler's got the design for the pt cruise from the old 1950-60"s panel trucks
