1969 Ford f100 starts but runs Really rough

Asked by Mar 11, 2018 at 11:43 AM about the 1969 Ford F-100

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Why does my truck run like the timing is off ? The points were sticking and I
manually gapped them and it runs like the timing is off unless I yank on the
vacuum pump up and down. Thanks

If timing is off, loosen the distributor and turn it. Use your timing light to set it correctly. What engine do you have? Check youtube for a video.

In the long run which has already been a long run since 1969 best bet is too buy a Ignition Conversion Kit. New plug wires and spark plugs and cap ect.

Vacuum advance may be at fault or low vacuum to begin with.
