Battery not charging

Asked by Sep 04, 2016 at 05:27 PM about the 1962 Ford Falcon

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My battery in not being charged by the generator.  I've never worked with a
generator and/or volt regulator.  What is the best way to test all of the
components to narrow down the problem?

Probe battery with multimeter with engine off, should be around 12,3V, start car, probe battery, should be around 14V. if not, might be time for a new alternator or wiring.
