on a1962 Galaxie did ford ever use" 401" on the fender badges
big argument! The car in question was a mutual friend had a col-um shift overdrive try power NEW in 62....
on the1962 GALAXIE-- 390 try power 401 hp. did ford ever use "401" fender badges ON THE FRONT
I don't think so, every American car that had fender badges displayed a number would be the size of the motor in Cubic Inches, not the HP rating. ex. 302, 390, 427
NO, In 1962 Ford had a "406" cubic inch motor in their Galaxies and had those badges with the crossed checkered flags on the lower front fenders but never had any such 401 horse power or cubic inch badges. MrBlueOval.
No they didn't. The only 2 badges used on the 62 Galaxie was the 390 and 406 emblems
I think I already mentioned that about A YEAR AGO. This was asked on Aug. 24th,2012. Always look for when a question was asked. It's listed above each question. MrBlueOval.
62 was the only year they put RED/BLACK eagle on there cars, all the rest where GOLD/BLACK....It looked really COOL that year...390/406/427
