1997 GMC Sierra C1500 blinker relay won't stop why?

blinker or 4 way relay won't stop when nothing is turned on and have power to
the relay when not turning it on blinker works and turns off but the relay won't
stop

I don't have an answer, I have the same problem with my GMC and it's the same year. I have power to the right lower terminal when the ignition is on. I hope we don't need to change the whole blinker assembly.
