2010 Nissan Versa Trims and Specs

A minimalist entry-level economy vehicle, the 2010 Nissan Versa 1.6 Base gets 26 city/34 highway mpg with its 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine (107 horsepower, 111 lb-ft of torque) and five-speed manual transmission and rides on 14-inch steel wheels with P185/65HR14 all-season tires. But its only features are a tilt steering column, a 12-volt outlet, cupholders, and front door pockets. The accessories are all manual, and it includes no radio, only pre-wiring.

If you really want the smaller, 1.6-liter engine and its $11,000 price tag, 26/34 mpg, and 107 horsepower, the 2010 Nissan Versa 1.6 is probably your trim, since it comes standard with air conditioning and an AM/FM/CD stereo with auxiliary input jack and four speakers. All accessories are manual, and the only other features are a tilt steering column, 12-volt outlet, front door pockets, and four cupholders.

The base trim for the more-powerful engine choice, the 2010 Nissan Versa 1.8 S, still gets 24 city/32 highway mpg with its 1.8-liter four cylinder and upgraded six-speed manual transmission (four-speed automatic is optional) and produces a bit more power with 122 horsepower and 127 lb-ft of torque than the 1.6-liter engine. The Versa 1.8 S also comes standard with four-wheel antilock brakes with electronic brakeforce distribution and brake assist, Vehicle Dynamic Control System, and Traction Control System. The exterior features 15-inch steel wheels with P185/65HR15 all-season tires, power mirrors, chrome grille accents, chrome trunk finisher, body-color door handles, and black door trim accents.

The 1.8 S interior includes a four-speaker AM/FM/CD stereo, air conditioning, front and rear kick plates, trunk lid trim, digital clock, double-thickness front seats, silver accents, a 12-volt outlet, and a tilt steering column.

With its standard four-speaker AM/FM/CD stereo and air conditioning, the 2010 Nissan Versa 1.8 S Hatchback is a step up from bare bones, but it is the cheaper of the two Versa Hatchback trims. The two trims share a 1.8-liter, 122-horsepower four-cylinder engine, but the 1.8 S Hatchback comes standard with a six-speed manual transmission (the 1.8 SL Hatchback upgrades to a continuously variable transmission) and gets 26 city/31 highway mpg. The 1.8 S Hatchback does come standard with four-wheel antilock brakes with electronic brakeforce distribution and brake assist.

The exterior features 15-inch steel wheels with P185/65HR15 all-season tires, LED center-mounted brake lights, power body-color mirrors, one-touch rear hatch release, chrome grille accents, body-color handles, and black door trim accents. In addition to the radio and air conditioning, the 1.8 S Hatchback's interior comes standard with a tilt steering column, digital clock, 12-volt outlet, rear wiper, front and rear kick plates, silver trim accents, trunk lid trim, cupholders, front door pockets, and upper dash storage.

The high-end Versa sedan, the 2010 Nissan 1.8 SL shares the 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine (24/32 mpg, 122 horsepower, 127 lb-ft torque) with the 1.8 S, but comes standard with the four-speed automatic transmission (there is no manual option). The 1.8 SL makes a standard audio upgrade with a premium six-speaker AM/FM/CD stereo with MP3/WMA CD playback ability, auxiliary input jack, interface for iPod, radio data system, and speed-sensitive volume control. Still a bargain at around $16,500, the 2010 Nissan Versa 1.8 SL Hatchback comes standard with Nissan’s acclaimed Xtronic CVT (continuously variable transmission) as well as a Vehicle Dynamic Control System and traction control system. It shares its 1.8-liter, 122-horsepower four-cylinder engine with the 1.8 S Hatchback.

The 1.8 SL Hatchback shares interior and exterior features with the 1.8 S Hatchback trim and upgrades with with cruise control, a premium six-speaker AM/FM/CD stereo (MP3/WMA capability, auxiliary input jack, iPod interface, radio data system, and speed-sensitive volume control), remote entry, power locks with auto lock, power windows with driver’s express, security system, six-way manual driver’s seat, woven cloth seat trim, wood-tone trim accents, overhead sunglass storage, and 15-inch aluminum wheels.
