2024 Genesis GV80 Reviews Summary

Genesis introduced the GV80 in 2021, and the crossover SUV is getting a minor refresh in 2025. Still, the 2024 GV80 remains a good choice unless you want to wait for the fancier styling, more high-tech interior, or new supercharged GV80 Coupe coming next year. Otherwise, today’s GV80 is pretty much the same as tomorrow’s GV80, and in some respects, it is the more elegant and traditional choice.

Verdict: Based on our evaluation of the 2024 Genesis GV80, seat comfort is not what it should be. Also, to use Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, you need a USB cable. This Genesis is thirsty, too. But otherwise, we have few complaints about this stylish, safe, and mostly rewarding midsize luxury SUV.

2024 Ford Bronco Reviews Summary

Ford reintroduced the Bronco for the 2021 model year, and it’s been an exciting run ever since. Initial demand far outstripped supply, but Ford went ahead and added the more-capable Everglades and Raptor versions to the 2022 Bronco lineup. Heritage-inspired variants followed them up for 2023. Now, the 2024 Bronco adds a standard 12-inch Sync 4 infotainment system, a more rugged front bumper on the Bronco Badlands, and two new colors for the Bronco Raptor.

Verdict: In the summer of 2024, Ford is still clearing unsold 2023 Broncos from inventory, suggesting cooling demand for the rough and tough SUV. A federal investigation into V6 engine problems and poor fuel economy ratings aren’t helping to sell them. Nevertheless, there is plenty to love about the 2024 Ford Bronco.

2024 Genesis GV80

9/10

2024 Ford Bronco

8/10

The 2024 Genesis GV80 offered a choice between the 2.5T turbocharged four-cylinder and the 3.5T twin-turbocharged V6 models, with trim levels ranging from Standard to Prestige Signature. Prices varied from $57,700 to $81,750, plus a $1,350 destination charge. The test vehicle, a GV80 3.5T in the top-tier Prestige Signature trim, featured an optional Matterhorn White Matte paint, bringing the MSRP to $84,600. The Prestige Signature trim was available in exclusive colors like Vik Black, Matterhorn White Matte, and Mauna Red, complemented by dark chrome trim and 22-inch wheels. Despite its luxurious appearance, the test vehicle's exterior was relatively plain, but the interior was lavish, featuring diamond-stitched Nappa leather, a suede headliner, and a wide touchscreen display, emphasizing its status as a luxury SUV.

The 2024 Ford Bronco embraced a retro design reminiscent of the 1960s, particularly successful in the two-door model. The Sasquatch Package, a costly upgrade, added a suspension lift and 35-inch mud-terrain tires, enhancing its rugged look. The Bronco offered nine trim levels, including the Raptor performance model, with prices ranging from $41,525 to $71,580, and the Raptor at $91,930. The test vehicle, a four-door Big Bend trim with the Sasquatch Package, had an MSRP of $55,415. While the marine-grade upholstery was practical, it lacked breathability. The Bronco's interior featured an 8-inch digital display and a 12-inch touchscreen, with a design echoing the original 1960s model. Despite its off-road prowess, the Bronco's ride was unrefined, with wind and tire noise on highways, but it excelled in off-road conditions.

The 2024 Genesis GV80 2.5T featured a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine producing 300 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque, outperforming some rivals' larger V6 engines. The 3.5T model, tested, boasted a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 engine with 375 hp and 391 lb-ft of torque, offering satisfying performance but lower fuel efficiency, with an observed 17.2 mpg compared to the EPA's 20 mpg estimate. Both engines paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and standard all-wheel drive, offering five driving modes. The GV80 3.5T included upgraded brakes and adaptive damping suspension, providing a rewarding driving experience with swift acceleration and commendable grip on mountain roads.

The 2024 Ford Bronco Big Bend came with a standard turbocharged 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine delivering 300 hp and 325 lb-ft of torque, paired with a seven-speed manual or 10-speed automatic transmission. The optional 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 offered 330 hp and 415 lb-ft, while the Raptor's 3.0-liter V6 produced 418 hp and 440 lb-ft. The Bronco's part-time 4WD system was standard, with an advanced system available. The test vehicle's powertrain provided good acceleration and clean shifts, but fuel efficiency was low, with an observed 16.9 mpg. The Bronco excelled off-road, with technologies like Trail Control and Trail Turn Assist enhancing its capability.

Form and function

2024 Ford Bronco

The 2024 Genesis GV80 3.5T Advanced was the only model with a third-row seat, while the Prestige Signature seated four with second-row captain’s chairs. The test vehicle featured a panoramic roof, triple-zone climate control, and ventilated front seats with massage functions. However, seat comfort was lacking, with diamond-stitched surfaces feeling uncomfortable on long trips. Cargo space was 34.9 cubic feet behind the second row, expanding to 84 cubic feet with seats folded, though the rear console limited loading ease.

The 2024 Ford Bronco, without optional running boards, required effort to enter, especially for shorter individuals. The two-door model comfortably seated four adults, while the four-door offered more space than a Jeep Wrangler. The marine-grade vinyl upholstery trapped moisture, but cloth seats were available in the Heritage Edition. The Bronco's roof and doors were removable, offering various open-air configurations. Cargo space in the two-door was 22.4 cubic feet, expanding to 53.3 cubic feet with seats down. The four-door offered 38.3 cubic feet, or 83 cubic feet with seats folded, though the hardtop reduced these volumes slightly.

The 2024 Genesis GV80 featured a 14.5-inch touchscreen infotainment display, with a control dial on the center console. Standard features included navigation, SiriusXM, and wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Prestige Signature added wireless charging in the second row. The digital key system allowed smartphone access, and most trims had a Lexicon sound system. The Prestige trims included a head-up display showing blind-spot warnings.

The 2024 Ford Bronco came with a 12-inch touchscreen Sync 4 infotainment system, offering wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, FordPass Connect, and SiriusXM 360L. Higher trims added navigation and a Bang & Olufsen sound system. The test vehicle experienced connectivity issues with Apple CarPlay and inconsistent voice recognition. The Bronco Trail App provided trail maps and information, accessible through the Sync 4 display.

The 2024 Genesis GV80 included advanced driving-assistance systems like Blind-Spot View Monitor, Remote Smart Parking Assist, and Highway Driving Assist. The Blind-Spot View Monitor displayed video feeds in the digital instrument panel, while the Remote Smart Parking Assist allowed autonomous parking. The GV80 received a Top Safety Pick+ rating from the IIHS and a five-star overall rating from the NHTSA, though frontal-impact ratings were four stars.

The 2024 Ford Bronco Big Bend featured standard safety systems like forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and a backup camera. The Mid Package added Ford Co-Pilot360 technologies, including lane-departure warning and blind-spot monitoring. The Bronco received favorable IIHS ratings, except for headlight performance, and a four-star frontal-impact rating from the NHTSA, with a three-star rollover resistance rating.
