2021 Honda Odyssey Reviews SummaryWhen you’re raising kids, the last thing your life needs is added complication. The modern minivan is designed to eliminate snags, simplify your existence, and reduce friction in the daily grind. Whether you wish to save money on gas, carry maximum cargo, or own a vehicle that is ridiculously easy to load (whether we’re talking passengers or merchandise), a minivan makes good sense. And the freshened 2021 Honda Odyssey is one of our favorites, for now.
2022 Lincoln Navigator Reviews SummarySometimes, only a full-size SUV will do. Among the handful of large luxury models available, the 2022 Lincoln Navigator stands apart with its classically elegant design, robust towing capacity, and soothing comfort in all three rows of seats. For the 2022 Navigator, Lincoln makes numerous changes to update the SUV’s styling, comfort, technology, safety, and driving dynamics. To experience the changes first-hand, we headed to Scottsdale, Arizona following a cold snap of winter weather. In short, the facelift has revived the aging Navigator, keeping it competitive against newer rivals.

The 2021 Honda Odyssey retained a familiar look with minor tweaks to modernize its appearance. It featured a new grille and front bumper, standard LED headlights with automatic high-beam operation, and a gloss black spear with a chrome insert stretching across the taillights. New wheel designs were introduced for the top three trim levels, and the Elite trim boasted perforated leather upholstery with contrast stitching and piping, new dashboard ambient lighting, and handsome 19-inch wheels with Shark Gray paint and machined surfaces.
The 2022 Lincoln Navigator received subtle styling changes, including new headlights and taillights, different wheel designs, and an updated Lincoln Embrace nighttime welcome illumination sequence. The front end was restyled with an Audi-esque grille, which some felt reduced the Navigator's elegance. Inside, the Navigator dazzled with quality materials and a mid-century modern design, featuring Lincoln’s Constellation instrumentation and infotainment display theme. The new Sync 4 infotainment system with a 13.2-inch touchscreen display and a 28-speaker Revel 3D audio system were notable upgrades.
The 2021 Honda Odyssey was equipped with a 3.5-liter V6 engine and a ten-speed automatic transmission, producing 280 horsepower. It offered smooth, effortless power and included variable cylinder management for fuel efficiency, averaging 21.8 mpg in testing. However, it lacked all-wheel drive, which was a disadvantage in snowy regions. The Odyssey's ride and handling were enjoyable, with firm but comfortable suspension and well-weighted steering. The brakes, though improved, still showed signs of fade under heavy use.
The 2022 Lincoln Navigator featured a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 engine, delivering a robust 440 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of torque. It offered rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive options, with a towing capacity ranging from 8,100 to 8,700 pounds. The Navigator's adaptive-damping suspension with Road Preview technology provided a smooth ride, even on imperfect pavement. The new electronic brake booster improved brake pedal feel and response. The Navigator averaged 18.6 mpg during testing and handled snowy and muddy conditions with ease, thanks to its 9.7 inches of ground clearance and appropriate driving modes.
The 2021 Honda Odyssey offered legible instrumentation, logical controls, and ample storage. The 12-way power-adjustable driver’s seat was comfortable, and the Elite trim added a heated steering wheel and heated and ventilated front seats. The second-row Magic Slide seats provided versatile seating configurations, while the third-row seats accommodated both children and adults comfortably. Cargo space was generous, with a maximum volume of 144.9 cubic feet, though removing the second-row seats was cumbersome.
The 2022 Lincoln Navigator's 30-way power-adjustable front seats were exceptionally comfortable, with heating, ventilation, and massage functions. The second-row captain’s chairs also offered heating, ventilation, and massage, along with an updated Lincoln Play rear-seat entertainment system. The third-row seats were roomy and supportive. Storage and cargo space were generous, with the long-wheelbase Navigator L offering up to 120.2 cubic feet of cargo volume.
The 2021 Honda Odyssey's EX trim and above featured an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, satellite radio, and more. Touring and Elite trims added navigation, WiFi capability, a CabinWatch interior camera, and a CabinTalk PA system. The Elite trim included an 11-speaker premium sound system and wireless smartphone charging. However, the lack of a tuning knob and subpar voice-recognition technology were drawbacks.
The 2022 Lincoln Navigator introduced a new Sync 4 infotainment system with a 13.2-inch touchscreen display, supporting Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The system was user-friendly, with physical controls for volume and climate functions. The voice recognition system was improved but not perfect. The upgraded Lincoln Play rear-seat entertainment system included Amazon Fire TV, providing access to popular streaming services. The 28-speaker Revel 3D audio system delivered exceptional sound quality.
The 2021 Honda Odyssey's Honda Sensing suite of advanced driving assistance systems (ADAS) became standard on all trims, with new features like low-speed follow capability, pedestrian braking, and road-sign recognition. The Odyssey earned top safety ratings from the IIHS and NHTSA, except for a four-star rating in rollover resistance.
The 2022 Lincoln Navigator introduced new driver assistance systems, including Intersection Assist, Road Edge Detection, Active Park Assist 2.0, and ActiveGlide. The surround-view camera system became standard. ActiveGlide, Lincoln’s semi-autonomous driving technology, performed well on approved highways but required constant driver attention. The Navigator's safety features aimed to enhance driver confidence and convenience.
