2020 Lincoln Corsair vs 2019 Ford Edge

The 2019 Ford Edge received a facelift that included a new grille, headlights, and lower front fascia, giving it a sportier appearance. In contrast, the 2020 Lincoln Corsair never felt like a Ford despite sharing some components with the Escape. Every body panel and trim piece was unique to Lincoln, exuding refinement with a low hood line, restrained chrome grille, and teardrop headlights. The Corsair's design borrowed cues from luxury SUVs but maintained its unique elegance. The interior was rich with materials and details, featuring curved matte-finish wood, leather with contrast stitching, and chrome trim. The driving position was airy with good sightlines, and rear passengers enjoyed ample headroom and legroom.

The 2019 Ford Edge offered a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine with 250 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque for non-ST trims, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel drive was optional for an additional $1,995. The ST trim featured a 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 engine with 335 horsepower and 380 pound-feet of torque, also paired with an 8-speed automatic and standard all-wheel drive. The ST provided fantastic acceleration and impressive cornering abilities, though it lacked a throaty exhaust note. Fuel economy for the base 2.0-liter FWD was 22 mpg city, 29 highway, and 25 combined, while the ST returned 19/26/21.

The Corsair's suspension provided steady composure at high speeds, and adaptive dampers came standard with the 2.3T. Fuel economy for the 2.3T was 21 mpg city, 28 highway, and 24 combined, while the 2.0T AWD was rated at 21/29/24, and the FWD model at 22/29/25.

The 2019 Ford Edge's cabin, though dated, was practical with deep cargo bins, USB ports, and available wireless charging. The ST trim featured bucket seats with pronounced side bolsters, but they were not ideal for tall drivers. Rear seats were spacious with ample head- and legroom, and cargo space was generous with 39 cubic feet behind the rear seats and 73.4 cubic feet with the seats folded.

The 2020 Lincoln Corsair offered a comfortable interior with seat controls on the doors, five massage settings, and 24-way adjustable Perfect Position seats. Rear passengers could slide and recline their seats, and optional heated rear seats and a panoramic moonroof added to the comfort. The SEL trim and above offered an 8-inch Sync 3 infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Amazon Alexa integration, providing a more intuitive and user-friendly experience.
