Is the 2025 Subaru Legacy a good car?

The 2025 Subaru Legacy is a practical midsize sedan that stands out for its standard all-wheel drive, strong safety content, and comfortable everyday driving character. It also remains relatively affordable compared with some rivals, which makes it appealing if you want a well-equipped sedan without moving into premium pricing.

Its appeal is strongest if you value security, usability, and a calm driving experience. The Legacy’s standard AWD, DriverFocus distraction mitigation system, EyeSight safety suite, adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane keep assist, and 11.6-inch infotainment screen give it a clear identity as a sensible, safety-focused choice.

34.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you a decent chance of finding a competitive offer.

Is the 2025 Subaru Legacy reliable?

The 2025 Subaru Legacy is presented as a familiar Subaru formula built around comfort, standard AWD, and a long list of safety features. That combination points to a car that is easy to live with and well suited to everyday use.

Its strengths are practical rather than flashy, and that usually matters more for long-term ownership than styling or performance. For used buyers, the main risk is less about the concept of the car and more about finding one that has been maintained well and hasn’t been worn down by age or mileage.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Subaru Legacy?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should prioritize a history report first, then focus on a careful inspection of the body, interior, and electronics. Because the Legacy’s value proposition leans on comfort, safety equipment, and everyday usability, condition matters a lot when you’re comparing listings.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Subaru Legacy?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly when you find a strong listing.

• Deal availability: 34.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 881 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.68% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 89.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $27,540, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Subaru Legacy's resale value?

The current average of $27,656 sits slightly below last year's $28,417.

That tells you the market has softened, which can help you as a buyer today but may also mean a seller has less room to command a premium. If you plan to resell later, the current pricing trend suggests you should buy carefully and focus on condition, because well-kept examples are more likely to hold their appeal.

Should I buy a 2025 Subaru Legacy or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 34.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.68% compared with last year.

The bottom line: The 2025 Legacy makes the most sense if you want the most developed version of this Subaru formula, with standard AWD, strong safety content, and a used price that still looks approachable. If you’re especially price-sensitive, a nearby model year may be worth comparing, but the 2025 is the better primary target if you want the latest version of the car’s core strengths.
