Summary
With 51 currently listed for sale near Portland, OR and an average price of $46,068.00, 64.7% of 2024 Toyota Siennas for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2024 Toyota Sienna 4 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it a 7.5 / 10.

Why it stands out
The 2024 Toyota Sienna stands out by blending minivan practicality with a more modern, efficiency-focused approach. Toyota offers it only as a fuel-sipping hybrid model with three rows of seating and power sliding doors, and it comes standard with plenty of safety features. The result is a family hauler that emphasizes comfort, value, and everyday usefulness while still trying to keep pace with changing buyer expectations.
Its biggest appeal is efficiency, since the standard hybrid engine delivers impressive fuel economy. The Sienna also offers optional all-wheel drive, and many shoppers may appreciate its dramatic exterior styling. At the same time, it is not trying to be a performance vehicle, and its acceleration is described as fairly pedestrian. The technology is also said to be a bit outdated, and the second-row seats cannot be removed, which may matter to buyers who want maximum cargo flexibility.

The hybrid system is excellent, it is rated for 36 mpg, however purchasing the new Sienna from Apex, North Carolina and driving it back to NY, it averaged 45 mpg for more than 500 miles, of course under mild driving.

The vehicle has some nice features but the technology is not keeping up with other automakers. According to some reviews, the line has some issues that the automaker does not take seriously and passes them off as (normal). Specifically the problem with starting the vehicle and braking quirks.

If you find a listing below $39,943.73, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
Is the 2024 Toyota Sienna a good car?
Generally — the 2024 Toyota Sienna earns 4/5 from users and 7.5/10 from our experts. The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 9/10.
The Sienna’s appeal is rooted in its minivan practicality, three rows of seating, power sliding doors, and standard hybrid setup. It is aimed at you if you want family-hauling usefulness with strong efficiency rather than a sporty driving experience.
The main trade-offs are fairly pedestrian acceleration and outdated technology. Even so, the overall package still lands well if your priorities are comfort, value, and everyday usefulness.
With 28.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market gives you some room to shop selectively.
Is the 2024 Toyota Sienna reliable?
Owners rate it 4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.
The Sienna’s reliability case is helped by its straightforward hybrid-focused mission and its emphasis on comfort and everyday usefulness. The expert evaluation also points to strong value and a family-friendly design, which usually matters when you plan to keep a vehicle for a while.
Toyota’s warranty coverage includes hybrid-component and battery protection, and buyers also get scheduled maintenance coverage for the first two years or 25,000 miles. That lowers early ownership friction and can make the first stretch of ownership easier to manage.
For used buyers, the bigger long-term risk is less about outright durability and more about whether the vehicle has been maintained well and used in a way that matches your family needs.
What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Toyota Sienna?
Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.9% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you are considering a higher-mileage example or a trim with more equipment. Focus on interior wear, seat condition, and whether the features you care about are working as expected.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The Sienna’s trims range from LE to Platinum, and the base setup already gives you cloth seats, three-zone climate control, room for eight, and standard LED lighting. Higher trims add more upscale lighting and comfort features, while the XSE with the optional Premium package brings captain’s chairs, heated and cooled leather-trimmed front seats, and a leather-trimmed steering wheel with ADAS controls.
- Powertrain: Every Sienna uses a 2.5-liter four-cylinder hybrid setup with two electric motors, and AWD versions add a rear motor. The result is 245 horsepower total, with efficiency as the main draw rather than quick acceleration.
- Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense is standard and includes lane departure alert, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection, road sign recognition, full-speed adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. Lane-keeping behavior can feel a bit loose, so test that system on your drive.
- Infotainment: You get a nine-inch touchscreen with wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus a 7-inch digital display in the gauge cluster. The system is older, but it does include physical buttons, a standard Wi-Fi hotspot, SiriusXM satellite radio, and available upgrades such as a 12-speaker JBL stereo.
- Fuel efficiency: The hybrid powertrain is rated at 36 mpg in front-wheel-drive form, with slightly lower efficiency for AWD models. That efficiency is one of the Sienna’s biggest reasons to buy.
Which 2024 Toyota Sienna trim should I buy?
The 2024 Toyota Sienna is offered in 6 trim levels: LE, XLE, XSE, Woodland Edition, Limited and Platinum.
Here's the short version:
- LE: This is the value-focused starting point, and it already gives you the Sienna’s core strengths: hybrid efficiency, three rows, standard safety tech, and family-friendly practicality. If you want the lowest-cost path into the model, this is the trim to start with.
- XLE: This is the trim to consider if you want a more comfortable daily driver without jumping too far up the price ladder. It should suit you if you want a better-equipped family hauler while staying close to the Sienna’s value proposition.
- XSE: This is the best-value trim if you want a more distinctive look and a richer cabin feel. It adds the sporty styling cues, and with the optional Premium package it gains captain’s chairs, heated and cooled front seats, and ADAS controls on the steering wheel.
- Woodland Edition: Choose this if you want the most rugged-leaning version of the Sienna. It adds roof rails with crossbars, a tow hitch, and a half-inch more ground clearance, so it is the trim to look at if you want a little extra versatility.
- Limited: This is the step-up choice if you want more upscale equipment and a more premium-feeling family vehicle. It makes sense if comfort and convenience matter more to you than keeping the purchase price down.
- Platinum: This is the top-end choice for shoppers who want the most fully equipped Sienna. It is the trim to target if you want the richest feature set and are willing to pay for it.
Toyota Safety Sense is standard across the lineup, so you do not need to move up trims to get the core driver-assistance suite.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Toyota Sienna?
This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop carefully without expecting a deep bargain everywhere.
- Deal availability: 28.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 1,845 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 3.40% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 91.9% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $39,943.73, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2024 Toyota Sienna's resale value?
The current average of $45,213 sits slightly below last year's $46,807.
That softer pricing suggests the market has eased a bit, which can help you buy at a more favorable point in the cycle. If you plan to sell later, the current trend implies you may not see rapid appreciation, so condition and mileage will matter a lot.
The good news is that a model with strong efficiency, family usefulness, and broad appeal can still attract steady demand. Well-kept examples should remain easier to move than less practical alternatives.
Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2024 Toyota Sienna safe?
The 2024 Toyota Sienna has been rated by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) with four out of five stars for frontal crash and rollover protection and five out of five stars for side crash protection.
The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) gives the 2024 Sienna the top score of “Good” in crashworthiness and seat belt and child restraint systems. However, in front crash prevention the minivan was rated as “Average.”
It earns a 8/10 safety score from our experts.
Toyota Safety Sense is standard across the board and includes lane departure alert, automatic emergency braking that can detect a pedestrian or cyclist, road sign recognition, full-speed adaptive cruise control and automatic high beams. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are also standard.
The main caveat is that lane-keeping assistance can feel a bit side-to-side in use, so you should test it on your own drive if that feature matters to you.
Should I buy a 2024 Toyota Sienna or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2024 if:
- 28.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.9% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 3.40% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
- It combines strong efficiency with standard safety features and a more modern family-hauler identity.
Consider the 2023 if:
- At $42,451, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $45,213 average.
- It emphasizes efficiency, space, and standard safety features.
Consider the 2025 if:
- At $47,960, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $45,213 average.
- It adds a quieter, more practical-feeling package with available AWD and light off-road versatility.
The bottom line: If you want the best balance of current pricing, strong efficiency, and broad family appeal, the 2024 is the primary path to consider. If your budget is tighter, the 2023 is the better price-sensitive alternative, while the 2025 makes sense if you want to pay more for the newer-year package.
