Used 2023 Toyota Sienna for Sale nearPortland, OR

How much does the 2023 Toyota Sienna cost?

Prices have softened 2.26% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,771 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2023 Toyota Sienna a good car?

Generally — the 2023 Toyota Sienna earns a 4.11/5 user rating and a 7.67/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Cost effectiveness and Safety.

Owners consistently praise its fuel efficiency, spaciousness, and comfort, and many highlight the hybrid setup as a major advantage for family use. The Sienna also stands out for practicality and everyday usefulness, especially if you want minivan space without giving up efficiency. On the trade-off side, the driving experience can feel held back by sluggish acceleration and an irritating transmission, and some owners note concerns about engine noise and tech quirks.

With its family-friendly layout and strong value proposition, it makes the most sense if you want a practical hauler that prioritizes efficiency and cabin space over excitement. Good and great deals account for 38.5% of listings, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities in the market.

Is the 2023 Toyota Sienna reliable?

Owners rate it 4.11/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that many shoppers find dependable, with repeated praise for its fuel-efficient hybrid setup, comfort, and family-friendly practicality. The expert evaluation also describes the Sienna’s technology as reliable, even if the interface itself feels dated and a bit clunky to use. Toyota’s hybrid-only approach adds to the sense that this is a vehicle built for steady, long-term use rather than short-term thrills.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about outright reliability and more about living with the Sienna’s slower acceleration and older-feeling tech.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Toyota Sienna?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 85.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on any listing you like, because accident-free status is helpful but not a substitute for documentation. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that checks the hybrid system, transmission behavior, and cabin electronics. Focus on overall condition, especially if you plan to use the Sienna as a daily family hauler where comfort and convenience matter most.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup includes LE, XLE, XSE, Limited, Platinum, and the 25th Anniversary Special Edition. The XLE is the value-oriented choice because it adds standard LED fog lights, power-sliding doors, and a power liftgate, while the LE is the entry point and the higher trims add more upscale equipment.
• Powertrain: Every model uses a 2.5-liter four-cylinder hybrid setup with two front-mounted electric motors, plus a third rear-mounted electric motor on all-wheel-drive versions. Output is 245 net system horsepower, and the efficiency-focused setup is a major part of the Sienna’s appeal.
• Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense-style driver assistance is standard, including automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning with steering assist, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, automatic high beams, and adaptive cruise control. There are no trim-level gaps called out for these features.
• Infotainment: The Sienna uses a 9-inch touchscreen, standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, SiriusXM satellite radio, Bluetooth, an optional navigation system, and seven USB ports. CarPlay and Android Auto require a wired connection, and the interface is described as older and somewhat clunky.
• Fuel efficiency: The EPA rates AWD models at 35 mpg city, 36 mpg highway, and 35 mpg combined, while FWD models return 36 mpg across the board.

Which 2023 Toyota Sienna trim should I buy?

The 2023 Toyota Sienna is offered in 6 trim levels: LE, XLE, XSE, Limited, Platinum, and 25th Anniversary Special Edition.

Here's the short version:

• LE: This is the entry point, so it makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the Sienna lineup and are comfortable with fewer convenience features.
• XLE: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds standard LED fog lights, power-sliding doors, and a power liftgate.
• XSE: Choose this if you want a sportier look and feel, especially since the front-wheel-drive version gets 20-inch wheels.
• Limited: This is the step-up choice if you want a more upscale family hauler without going all the way to the top trim.
• 25th Anniversary Special Edition: This sits just below Limited in price and gives you a special-edition alternative if you want something a little more distinctive.
• Platinum: This is the top-shelf pick for shoppers who want the most upscale version, including the highest-end interior presentation.

For safety equipment, the standard driver-assistance suite is already strong across the lineup, so you do not need to move up a trim just to get the core safety tech.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Toyota Sienna?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on the right listing.

• Deal availability: 38.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,771 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.26% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 85.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $40,917, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Toyota Sienna's resale value?

The current average of $41,497 sits slightly below last year's $42,455.

That softer pricing can help you as a buyer today, but it also suggests the market has adjusted downward from where it was a year ago. For a future seller, that means resale value may be more sensitive to condition, mileage, and trim choice than it would be in a hotter market. Well-kept examples should still draw interest because the Sienna’s efficiency and family-friendly packaging remain strong selling points.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.11/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Toyota Sienna safe?

The 2023 Toyota Sienna earns five-star ratings from NHTSA, and the mechanically identical 2022 Sienna received a Top Safety Pick+ designation from IIHS.

Toyota equips the Sienna with a standard suite of driver-assistance features that includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning with steering assist, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, automatic high beams, and adaptive cruise control. That standard safety content is a major strength for a family vehicle.

Should I buy a 2023 Toyota Sienna or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 38.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 85.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.26% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.11/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• It combines hybrid efficiency with standard safety tech and family-friendly practicality.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $36,583, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $41,497 average.
• It carries over the redesigned hybrid formula and adds a Woodland trim for adventurous buyers.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $44,305, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $41,497 average.
• It keeps the hybrid formula and adds a more modern-feeling family-hauler appeal.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, efficiency, and family usefulness, the 2023 is the strongest all-around pick. If you’re especially price-sensitive, the 2022 is worth a look; if you want to spend more for a newer-feeling alternative, the 2024 is the next step up.
