Subaru has also expanded the model's upgraded engine to the Sport trim. You could previously only get it in the range-topping XT trim. ## Design Trims for the 2023 Legacy are Base, Premium, Limited, Sport, and Touring XT. All trims receive a new, aggressive front-end design. The Base trim includes 17-inch alloy wheels. The Limited trim adds 18-inch alloy wheels and fog lights. The Sport trim features a rear spoiler and unique styling elements. ## Powertrain The standard engine in the 2023 Subaru Legacy is a 2.5-liter horizontally opposing four-cylinder. It produces 182 horsepower and 176 pound-feet of torque. Sport and Touring XT trims come equipped with a turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 260 horsepower and 277 pound-feet of torque. Both engines route power through a continuously variable transmission (CVT) to Subaru’s Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive (AWD). The base powertrain returns fuel economy of 27 mpg city, 35 highway, and 30 combined. The turbocharged powertrain returns 23 mpg city, 31 highway, and 26 combined. ## Interior Standard features on the Base trim for 2023 include remote keyless entry, cloth upholstery, manually adjustable front seats, a USB port, and automatic climate control. The Premium trim adds three additional USB ports, dual-zone automatic climate control, heated front seats, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. The Base trim comes with two 7-inch touch screens. The lower screen handles the climate control and other vehicle systems. The upper screen is where one operates entertainment functions, including the stereo, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. All other trims feature an 11.6-inch touchscreen in a portrait orientation. Its operation has a steeper learning curve, but it does provide wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto. ## Safety The 2023 Legacy comes standard with Subaru’s EyeSight suite of advanced driver-assistance features.
