Is the 2023 GMC Yukon a good car?

With a user rating of 3.4/5, the 2023 GMC Yukon looks like a mixed but appealing choice if you want a large SUV with a premium feel. Owners consistently praise its quality finishes, spacious interior, and smooth ride, and they also like the helpful digital dashboard. Is the 2023 GMC Yukon reliable?

The 2023 GMC Yukon stands out as a full-size SUV that blends a commanding presence with a genuinely upscale feel. Owners describe it as quality-built and smooth-riding, but they also mention concerns tied to transmission issues and engine recalls, which makes reliability feel more mixed than ideal. That means you should approach used examples with a careful eye, especially if you plan to keep the vehicle long term.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 GMC Yukon?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially for drivetrain and transmission behavior, since owner feedback points to those areas as worth extra attention. Focus on overall condition, service records, and signs of prior repair work so you can separate a clean, well-maintained example from one with hidden issues. If possible, test the vehicle in stop-and-go traffic and on the highway to check for smooth shifting and consistent operation.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 GMC Yukon?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 33.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,831 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.26% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 88.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $54,615, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 GMC Yukon's resale value?

The current average of $54,615 sits slightly below last year's $60,858.

That price movement suggests the Yukon has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help you as a buyer today. If you plan to sell later, the current market level gives you a clearer baseline for estimating future value, but the softer trend also means resale gains may be limited unless the vehicle is especially clean and well maintained. A strong service history and accident-free record should matter more when it comes time to trade or sell.

Should I buy a 2023 GMC Yukon or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 33.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.26% compared with last year.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $46,227, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $54,615 average.
• It offers a more value-focused take on the Yukon with strong space and capability.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2023 if you want the newer market position and are comfortable paying more for it. If your priority is stretching your budget, the 2022 is the better secondary path because it delivers much of the same large-SUV appeal at a lower price.
