Used 2022 Toyota Tundra for Sale nearWallingford, CT

How much does the 2022 Toyota Tundra cost?

Prices have softened 9.20% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 3,266 listings available, which gives you a meaningful pool to compare prices and equipment.

Is the 2022 Toyota Tundra a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Toyota Tundra earns a 4.7/5 user rating and a 7.8/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Form and function at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise its powerful engine, advanced features, and reliability, and they also like its solid feel and smooth ride. The trade-offs are that current market prices can feel high, and some shoppers question whether the value matches the cost.

For you, that means the Tundra makes the most sense if you want a full-size pickup with strong capability, modern tech, and a loyal-owner reputation. It also shows 33.7% good or great deals, so there are still worthwhile listings if you shop carefully.

Is the 2022 Toyota Tundra reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to reliability, durability, and a truck that feels solid and dependable over time. The expert evaluation also emphasizes the Tundra’s long-running reputation for durability and value, along with owners who keep these trucks for hundreds of thousands of miles.

Toyota’s powertrain and chassis updates are aimed at making the truck smoother and more capable for the long haul, which supports confidence in everyday use. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is paying too much for a truck whose condition and maintenance history may vary widely by listing.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Toyota Tundra?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 82.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because accident-free status does not guarantee a trouble-free truck. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on the powertrain, suspension, electronics, and signs of hard use. Pay close attention to trim-specific equipment so you know whether the truck has the features you want.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Tundra’s trim ladder ranges from work-focused to luxury-oriented, and the base SR is the most stripped-down starting point. Higher trims add more premium materials, larger displays, and more convenience equipment, so you should compare the feature gaps carefully before paying up.
• Powertrain: The standard twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 delivers strong output, and the hybrid setup adds even more power. Toyota pairs both with a 10-speed automatic, and the truck is available with rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive depending on trim.
• Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 is standard and includes pre-collision braking with pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control, lane-departure alert with steering assist, lane-tracing assist, automatic high beams, and road sign assist. Blind-spot monitoring is not available on SR and is standard on most other trims.
• Infotainment: An 8-inch touchscreen is standard on SR and SR5, while a 14-inch screen is standard on Limited and above and optional on SR5. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, and Toyota Connected services are included with a trial period.
• Fuel efficiency: Toyota estimates 18 mpg city, 23 mpg highway, and 20 mpg combined for rear-wheel-drive gas models, while four-wheel-drive gas models are estimated at 17 mpg city, 22 mpg highway, and 19 mpg combined.

Which 2022 Toyota Tundra trim should I buy?

The 2022 Toyota Tundra is offered in 6 trim levels: SR, SR5, Limited, Platinum, 1794, and TRD Pro.

Here's the short version:

• SR: This is the entry point, and it makes sense if you want the lowest starting price and a straightforward work truck. It comes with the standard 8-inch touchscreen and the core safety suite, but it leaves out the richer cabin upgrades and larger display found higher up the range.
• SR5: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it sits in the middle of the lineup and is one of Toyota’s core trims. It can be had with the 14-inch touchscreen as an option, and it gives you a better balance of equipment and price than the base truck.
• Limited: This is the sweet spot if you want the more upscale tech experience, because the 14-inch touchscreen is standard here and the JBL audio system becomes available. It also adds more premium cabin content and is a strong choice if you want a more family-friendly daily driver.
• Platinum: This trim is for you if you want a more luxurious Tundra with higher-end features and available head-up display equipment. It builds on the Limited’s tech-forward setup and pushes the truck further into premium territory.
• 1794: This is the luxury-focused trim for buyers who want the most upscale feel and the most premium presentation. It sits near the top of the lineup and is the right pick if comfort and image matter more than value.
• TRD Pro: This is the flagship off-road-oriented trim, with FOX shocks and aluminum skid plates. It is the one to choose if you want the most rugged factory setup and the strongest adventure focus.

Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 is standard across the lineup, while blind-spot monitoring is not available on SR and is standard on all other trims except where noted.

• Deal availability: 33.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.20% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 82.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $38,022, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Toyota Tundra's resale value?

The current average of $38,022 sits slightly below last year's $41,877.

That price movement suggests the Tundra has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation compared with a year ago. For a future seller, that can be helpful if you buy at the right price, because there may be less downside left than there was when prices were higher.

At the same time, the market still shows solid demand for well-equipped trucks with strong reputations, which can help support resale later. If you keep mileage reasonable and maintain the truck well, you should be in a better position when it comes time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Toyota Tundra safe?

The 2022 Toyota Tundra has not yet been rated by IIHS or NHTSA.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 is standard on every trim, and it includes pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, full-speed range adaptive cruise control, lane-departure alert with steering assist, lane-tracing assist, automatic high beams, and road sign assist. The Star Safety System is also standard, along with eight airbags, LATCH anchors, tire-pressure monitoring, hill-start control, and parking support brake with rear cross-traffic alert.

Blind-spot monitoring is available on SR5 as part of a package and standard on all other trims except SR. That means you should pay close attention to trim choice if driver-assistance coverage matters to you.

Should I buy a 2022 Toyota Tundra or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 33.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 82.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.20% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It brings a full redesign with stronger tech and a modern twin-turbo powertrain.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $38,331, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $38,022 average.
• It favors a proven older formula with familiar fundamentals.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $42,107, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $38,022 average.
• It mainly adds an SX appearance package to the SR5 trim.

The bottom line: If you want the newest-generation Tundra with strong tech and a softer price than the 2023, the 2022 is the primary path to consider. If you are especially price-sensitive, the 2021 can still appeal if you prefer the older, simpler formula and can live with its age.
