Used 2021 Toyota Sienna for Sale nearPalatine, IL

How much does the 2021 Toyota Sienna cost?

Prices have softened 4.38% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,344 listings available, which suggests a healthy amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2021 Toyota Sienna a good car?

Generally — the 2021 Toyota Sienna earns 4.33/5 from owners and 8.33/10 from our experts. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, and Technology.

Drivers repeatedly praise the roomy interior, excellent gas mileage, and smooth handling. The hybrid and AWD combination also comes up as a strong fit for road trips and family use.

The main trade-offs are the lackluster stereo and uninspired styling, along with some concerns about acceleration and interior material quality. For you, that means the Sienna makes the most sense if you want a practical family hauler that emphasizes efficiency and comfort over flash.

With 36.5% of listings priced as good or great deals, there’s enough market flexibility to shop selectively.

Is the 2021 Toyota Sienna reliable?

Owners rate it 4.33/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction. Review feedback also points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with drivers highlighting the hybrid and AWD setup as something they can count on for family duty and road trips.

The expert evaluation reinforces that impression by describing the engine, motor, and battery combination as proven and very similar to the setup in the current Highlander Hybrid. Toyota also backs the hybrid system with an eight-year/100,000-mile hybrid-related component warranty.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about the core hybrid hardware and more about finding a well-kept example with the right equipment and condition.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Toyota Sienna?

At 74.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a careful inspection of bodywork, interior condition, and any signs of prior repair. Because this model is often bought for family use, it’s worth paying close attention to wear in the cabin, missing equipment, and how well the tech and convenience features still function.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: LE and XLE use 17-inch wheels, while Limited, XSE AWD, and Platinum AWD use 18-inch wheels; XSE FWD and Platinum FWD use 20-inch wheels. The base trim also misses some convenience and audio upgrades that appear higher in the lineup.
• Powertrain: A 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and two electric motors produce 243 horsepower. Front-wheel drive is standard, all-wheel drive is available on all trim levels, and the hybrid setup is tuned for smooth, efficient driving rather than quick throttle response.
• Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 is standard on all trim levels and includes full-speed range dynamic radar cruise control, lane-tracing assist, pre-collision system with pedestrian and bicyclist detection, lane-departure alert, automatic high beams, and road sign assist. The Star Safety System, 10 airbags, LATCH connectors, rear-seat reminder, TPMS, and an inflator kit are also standard.
• Infotainment: A nine-inch touchscreen is standard, along with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Amazon Alexa, SiriusXM, one USB media port, and six USB charging ports. Bluetooth is standard on all trim levels, while wireless charging and some connectivity features move up the lineup.
• Fuel efficiency: Front-wheel-drive models are rated at 36 mpg city, 36 mpg highway, and 36 mpg combined, while all-wheel-drive models are rated at 35/36/35 mpg combined.

Which 2021 Toyota Sienna trim should I buy?

The 2021 Toyota Sienna is offered in 5 trim levels: LE, XLE, XSE, Limited, Platinum.

Here's the short version:

• LE: This is the entry point, but it still gives you the standard hybrid powertrain, Toyota Safety Sense 2.0, a nine-inch touchscreen, and the core family-friendly packaging. It makes sense if you want the lowest starting price and can live without the nicer audio and convenience upgrades.
• XLE: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds more comfort and convenience without jumping all the way to the luxury-oriented upper trims. It also unlocks more available tech and family features, making it a smart middle ground.
• XSE: This trim adds a more distinctive look and sits in the sportier part of the lineup, with larger wheel options and available premium audio. It suits you if style matters more than pure value.
• Limited: This is where the Sienna starts to feel more upscale, with more advanced tech and comfort features, including higher-end audio and available digital rearview mirror equipment. It’s a good fit if you want a more premium minivan experience.
• Platinum: This is the top trim, adding the most advanced display and convenience features, including the head-up display and available digital rearview mirror. Choose it if you want the most fully equipped Sienna and are willing to pay for it.

Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 and the Star Safety System are standard across the lineup, so you don’t need to move up trims for the core safety suite.

What is the 2021 Toyota Sienna's resale value?

The current average of $34,315 sits slightly below last year's $35,888.

That decline suggests the market has become a bit more buyer-friendly, which can help you if you’re shopping now. For a future seller, it also means pricing discipline matters: a clean, well-equipped Sienna should still attract interest, but you may need to stay close to market averages to move it quickly.

The hybrid powertrain and family-focused reputation should continue to support demand, especially among shoppers who value efficiency and space. Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.33/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2021 Toyota Sienna or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 36.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 74.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.38% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.33/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• Toyota’s redesign brings a standard hybrid powertrain, strong efficiency, and a more modern family-hauler formula.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $26,097, the 2020 costs less than the current year's $34,315 average.
• It offers AWD and strong practicality for buyers who want a lower entry price.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $36,453, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $34,315 average.
• It adds the Woodland trim for buyers who want a more adventurous look.

The bottom line: If you want the redesigned Sienna with the standard hybrid setup, the 2021 is the right target. If your priority is saving money, the 2020 is the better value play; if you want a newer model-year alternative and don’t mind paying more, the 2022 is worth a look.
