Used 2022 Toyota Sienna for Sale nearPalatine, IL

How much does the 2022 Toyota Sienna cost?

Prices have softened 5.76% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,493 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for shoppers comparing trims and prices.

Is the 2022 Toyota Sienna a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Toyota Sienna earns a 4.75/5 user rating and an 8.67/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, Technology, and Safety.

The Sienna stands out as a hybrid-only minivan with a standard hybrid powertrain, plenty of cargo space, and strong safety ratings. That combination makes it especially appealing if you want a practical family hauler that emphasizes efficiency and everyday usability.

The main trade-off is price, since it sits above some rivals. The expert notes also point to a minivan that is not trying to hide what it is, even though Toyota gives it SUV-like styling touches and a roomy, family-friendly cabin.

Cons: It is priced higher than competitors, and that can make value shoppers look elsewhere.

Only 38.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so the market is somewhat selective rather than broadly discounted.

Is the 2022 Toyota Sienna reliable?

Owners rate it 4.75/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Sienna’s reliability case is helped by its hybrid-only setup and Toyota’s reputation for building efficient, durable family vehicles. The expert notes also emphasize that the hybrid powertrain returns unchanged for this model year, which supports a sense of continuity for used buyers.

The performance notes describe a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine paired with two electric motors, plus an electronically controlled continuously variable automatic transmission. Toyota also backs the hybrid-related components with an eight-year/100,000-mile warranty, which adds confidence for long-term ownership.

If you buy used, the biggest ownership risk is paying a premium for a vehicle that is already in high demand, so condition and maintenance history matter a lot.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Toyota Sienna?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 80.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because accident-free status is only one part of the picture. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on hybrid-system operation, cabin wear, and any signs of heavy family use. It also helps to compare trim equipment closely, since the Sienna’s value changes a lot with seating layout and convenience features.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base LE is the entry point, but it is the most basic version in the lineup. Higher trims add more comfort and convenience, and the Woodland Edition is aimed at buyers who want a more adventurous look.
• Powertrain: The Sienna uses a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with two electric motors for 243 horsepower. FWD is standard, AWD is available, and the hybrid setup is tuned for smooth, efficient driving.
• Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 includes adaptive cruise control, Lane Tracing Assist, forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, automatic high beams, and traffic sign recognition. Toyota’s Star Safety System is also standard.
• Infotainment: A 9-inch touchscreen is standard, along with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Amazon Alexa, SiriusXM, one USB media port, and six USB charging ports. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are not included.
• Fuel efficiency: FWD models are rated at 36 mpg city/36 mpg highway/36 mpg combined, while AWD models are rated at 35 mpg city/36 mpg highway/35 mpg combined.

Which 2022 Toyota Sienna trim should I buy?

The 2022 Toyota Sienna is offered in 6 trim levels: LE, XLE, XSE, Limited, Platinum, and Woodland Edition.

Here's the short version:

• LE: This is the value starting point if you want the Sienna’s hybrid efficiency and family-friendly space at the lowest entry price. It gives you the core Sienna formula without the extra comfort and convenience upgrades found higher up the range.
• XLE: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds a more upscale feel without jumping all the way to the pricier upper trims. It is a smart middle ground if you want more comfort and flexibility for family duty.
• XSE: Choose this if you want a sportier-looking Sienna with a more distinctive personality. It sits above the XLE and is a good fit if style matters as much as practicality.
• Limited: This trim is for you if you want a more premium family hauler with more luxury-oriented equipment. It is a strong choice if you plan to keep the van for long trips and want a more refined daily experience.
• Woodland Edition: This is the trim to consider if you want the adventurous look and AWD-only setup. It is the most distinctive choice in the lineup, but it is aimed more at image and capability than at pure value.
• Platinum: This is the top-end choice if you want the most features and the most upscale Sienna experience. It suits buyers who want the most complete version of the van and are willing to pay for it.

Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 is standard across the lineup, so even the base trim gets the core driver-assistance suite.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Toyota Sienna?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory to compare options but not so much discounting that you can ignore condition.

• Deal availability: 38.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,493 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.76% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 80.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $36,453, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Toyota Sienna's resale value?

The current average of $36,453 sits slightly below last year's $38,679.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can help you buy more carefully now. For a future seller, the current softness means resale value may depend more heavily on trim, condition, mileage, and history than on broad market momentum alone.

Because the Sienna is a hybrid-only minivan with strong family appeal, well-kept examples should continue to attract shoppers who value efficiency and space. That should help support demand over time, especially for cleaner listings with desirable equipment.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.75/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Toyota Sienna safe?

The 2022 Toyota Sienna was a Top Safety Pick+ from IIHS and earns five-star ratings from NHTSA.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 is standard and includes adaptive cruise control, Lane Tracing Assist, forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, automatic high beams, and traffic sign recognition. Toyota’s Star Safety System is also standard, along with 10 airbags and multiple LATCH child-seat connectors.

A rear-seat reminder system is standard, which is especially useful in a family vehicle. The main safety caveat is that the base trim does not add a separate safety-package upgrade beyond the standard suite, so you should verify the exact equipment on the listing you are considering.

Should I buy a 2022 Toyota Sienna or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 38.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 80.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.76% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.75/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2022 adds a new Woodland trim level for buyers who want a more adventurous look.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $34,315, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $36,453 average.
• It introduced the Sienna’s major redesign and standard hybrid powertrain.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $41,164, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $36,453 average.
• It keeps the standard hybrid formula while emphasizing practicality and fuel efficiency.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of current-market pricing, strong safety, and hybrid efficiency, the 2022 is the sensible pick. If your priority is saving money, the 2021 is the better value path; if you want to spend more for a newer-year alternative, the 2023 is the next step up.
