How much does the 2021 Toyota Sienna cost?

Prices have softened 4.88% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,430 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2021 Toyota Sienna a good car?

Generally — the 2021 Toyota Sienna earns a 4.3/5 user rating and an 8.3/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, and Technology.

Drivers consistently praise the roomy interior, excellent gas mileage, and smooth handling, especially for road trips. The Sienna’s hybrid setup and AWD combination also comes through as a strong fit for buyers who want efficiency without giving up all-weather confidence.

The main trade-offs are the lacking stereo and uninspired styling, plus some owner concerns about acceleration and interior materials. For you, that means the Sienna makes the most sense if you value practicality, comfort, and efficiency more than flash or sporty response.

The market shows 33.1% good and great deals, so there’s still room to find a strong-value listing.

Is the 2021 Toyota Sienna reliable?

Owners rate it 4.3/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

Drivers describe it as dependable for daily use, with strong praise for the hybrid system, roomy cabin, and smooth road-trip manners. The feedback also points to a trouble-free ownership experience for many shoppers who want a vehicle they can count on over the long haul.

Toyota says the hybrid powertrain is a proven setup, and the standard hybrid system is designed to deliver efficient, consistent operation. The warranty coverage also includes an eight-year/100,000-mile hybrid-related component warranty.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about the core hybrid setup and more about finding a well-kept example with no hidden wear or neglected maintenance.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Toyota Sienna?

At 73.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing price looks unusually attractive. Focus on condition details that matter in a family hauler: cabin wear, electronics, and evidence of prior bodywork or repairs.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LE trim gets a six-speaker stereo, while higher trims add more equipment, including larger wheels and more upscale tech and comfort features. The LE is the most stripped-down version, so you should compare it carefully against the higher trims if you want more convenience and a richer cabin experience.
• Powertrain: The standard setup pairs a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with two electric motors for 243 horsepower. Front-wheel drive is standard, and all-wheel drive is available across the lineup; the hybrid system is tuned for smooth, efficient driving rather than quick throttle response.
• Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 is standard and includes full-speed range dynamic radar cruise control, lane-tracing assist, pre-collision system with pedestrian and bicyclist detection, lane-departure alert, automatic high beams, and road sign assist. The Star Safety System is also standard, and there are 10 airbags plus a rear-seat reminder.
• Infotainment: A nine-inch touchscreen is standard, along with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Amazon Alexa, Bluetooth, and multiple USB ports. Wireless charging, a rear-seat entertainment system, and premium audio are available on higher trims.
• Fuel efficiency: The front-wheel-drive model is rated at 36 mpg city, 36 mpg highway, and 36 mpg combined, while the all-wheel-drive version is rated at 35 mpg city, 36 mpg highway, and 35 mpg combined.

Which 2021 Toyota Sienna trim should I buy?

The 2021 Toyota Sienna is offered in 5 trim levels: LE, XLE, XSE, Limited, Platinum.

Here's the short version:

• LE: This is the entry point, and it gives you the standard hybrid powertrain, Toyota Safety Sense 2.0, a nine-inch touchscreen, and the basics you need for family duty. It makes sense if you want the lowest starting price and can live without the extra comfort and tech upgrades.
• XLE: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds more convenience and tech while staying below the higher-priced luxury-oriented versions. If you want a more complete daily driver without jumping too far up the price ladder, this is the one to focus on.
• XSE: This trim adds a more distinctive look and sits above the mainstream family-focused versions. It’s a good fit if you want a sportier appearance and more upscale presence without going all the way to the top trims.
• Limited: This is where the Sienna starts to feel notably more premium, with features like a larger driver display, available premium audio, and more available comfort tech. Choose it if you want a more upscale minivan experience.
• Platinum: This is the top trim, with the most advanced tech and luxury touches, including the head-up display and available digital rearview mirror. It suits you best if you want the most fully equipped Sienna.

Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 is standard on all trim levels, so you do not need to move up the lineup to get the core driver-assistance suite.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Toyota Sienna?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you should shop carefully and be ready to move when you find the right listing.

• Deal availability: 33.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,430 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.88% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 73.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $32,945, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Toyota Sienna's resale value?

The current average of $34,094 sits slightly below last year's $35,844.

That softer pricing suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point today. For a future seller, that also means resale value may depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the vehicle has been maintained.

Because the Sienna has strong owner satisfaction and broad family appeal, well-kept examples should continue to attract interest. If you buy carefully and keep the vehicle in good shape, you can help protect its value over time.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.3/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Toyota Sienna safe?

The 2021 Toyota Sienna gets a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 is standard, and it includes full-speed range dynamic radar cruise control, lane-tracing assist, pre-collision system with pedestrian and bicyclist detection, lane-departure alert, automatic high beams, and road sign assist. The Star Safety System is also standard, along with 10 airbags, LATCH child-seat anchors, a rear-seat reminder, and a tire pressure monitoring system.

A spare tire is optional, while an inflator kit is standard. That means you should check the equipment on any used listing so you know exactly what’s included.

Should I buy a 2021 Toyota Sienna or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 33.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 73.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.88% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.3/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• Toyota’s redesign adds a standard hybrid powertrain and a more SUV-like look.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $26,388, the 2020 costs less than the current year's $34,094 average.
• It offers rare all-wheel-drive availability.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $36,091, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $34,094 average.
• It adds a Woodland trim aimed at more adventurous buyers.

The bottom line: If you want the redesigned hybrid Sienna with strong efficiency and modern tech, the 2021 is the sweet spot. If your priority is lower purchase price, the 2020 is the better value play, while the 2022 makes sense only if you want the newer trim expansion and are comfortable paying more.
