How much does the 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E cost?

Prices have softened 7.77% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 456 listings available, which gives you a meaningful pool to compare prices and equipment.

Is the 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E a good car?

Yes — with a 4.78/5 user rating and a 7.83/10 expert rating, it lands as a strong choice for shoppers who want an electric crossover with personality. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Performance.

Owners consistently praise its stylish design, impressive performance, and advanced technology, and they also like the comfortable interior and user-friendly features. The main trade-off is that some owners mention charging-related concerns and software issues, while the expert review also points to poor ergonomic design.

That mix fits the Mach-E’s role well: it is aimed at you if you want an EV that feels more emotional and sporty than a typical electric crossover, rather than a purely utilitarian commuter. With 39.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market still offers some attractive opportunities.

Is the 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E reliable?

Owners rate it 4.78/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback points to a vehicle that feels dependable in daily use, with praise for its comfortable cabin, user-friendly features, and overall enjoyable driving experience. The expert drive notes that the adaptive cruise control kept pace with traffic reliably, and its automated lane centering was one of the smoothest experienced in a mainstream-brand vehicle.

Ford also includes a cable that lets you plug into a 240-volt home outlet for Level 2 AC charging, which can make routine charging easier if your setup supports it. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure software behavior, charging performance, and battery condition have been well maintained.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 84% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because a clean title alone does not tell you how the car was charged, maintained, or repaired. Prioritize a thorough inspection of the battery, charging equipment, software behavior, and cabin ergonomics, since those are the areas most likely to affect day-to-day ownership satisfaction. If possible, confirm that the car charges normally at home and on DC fast chargers, and make sure all driver-assistance features work as expected.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup includes Select, California Route 1, Premium, and GT. The Select is the entry point, while California Route 1, Premium, and GT add more equipment, and the Select can be optioned with Active Drive Assist plus a 360-degree camera system, heated front seats, and a heated steering wheel. If you want the best value, the Premium is the trim to focus on because it shares the stronger powertrain setup used by the First Edition test car and adds more equipment than the lower trims.
• Powertrain: You can choose rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, and the car is offered with Standard Range or Extended Range battery packs. The base RWD Select makes 266 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque, while the lower-level AWD setup makes 346 hp and 428 lb-ft. The most potent setup is the AWD GT Performance Edition, which makes 480 hp and 634 lb-ft.
• Safety package: Standard driver-assist features include automatic high beams, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist, automatic emergency braking, post-collision braking, a reverse sensing system, reverse automatic braking, adaptive cruise control with automated lane centering, traffic-sign recognition, and evasive steering assist. A 360-degree camera system is standard on higher trim levels, and Active Drive Assist is standard on California Route 1, Premium, and First Edition, but only part of a package on Select.
• Infotainment: The Mach-E uses Sync 4 with a 15.5-inch touchscreen, a 10.2-inch instrument cluster, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and over-the-air software update capability. SiriusXM 360L and a six-speaker audio system are standard, while Premium, GT, and First Edition get a nine-speaker B&O by Bang & Olufsen system.
• Range & charging: The Standard Range battery pack is rated at 230 miles with RWD and 211 miles with AWD. The Extended Range pack is rated at 300 miles with RWD and 270 miles with AWD. DC fast charging is standard at up to 150 kilowatts, and Ford says 10% to 80% charging can take 38 minutes.
• Battery health: On a used EV, you want to confirm battery state-of-health, charging habits, and whether the car has spent most of its life on home charging or frequent DC fast charging. Also check how much of the battery warranty remains so you know how much coverage you still have if capacity or charging issues show up later.

Which 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E trim should I buy?

The 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E is offered in 4 trim levels: Select, California Route 1, Premium, and GT.

Here's the short version:

• Select: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core Mach-E experience with the standard driver-assistance suite, the 15.5-inch touchscreen, wireless smartphone integration, and the base rear-wheel-drive powertrain. It makes sense if you want the lowest starting price and are comfortable adding options selectively.
• California Route 1: This trim is the better fit if range and standard equipment matter more to you, since it includes Active Drive Assist as standard and sits above the base model in equipment. It is a strong choice if you want more convenience tech without jumping all the way to the top of the lineup.
• Premium: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds more comfort and convenience equipment while pairing well with the stronger powertrain setup used by the First Edition test car. If you want the most balanced mix of features, performance, and everyday usability, this is the trim to target.
• GT: Choose this one if you want the most performance, since it is the most potent version in the lineup and is aimed at buyers who care most about acceleration and driving excitement. It sits at the top of the range and is the right pick if you want the Mach-E’s sportiest character.

Active Drive Assist is standard on California Route 1, Premium, and First Edition, but it is only part of a package on Select.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you have room to shop carefully without waiting for a perfect bargain.

• Deal availability: 39.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 456 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.77% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 84.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $21,797, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E's resale value?

The current average of $23,138 sits slightly below last year's $25,087.

That decline suggests the market has become a bit more buyer-friendly, which can matter if you plan to sell later. A softer current price can help you buy in at a more favorable point, but it also means future resale will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and equipment. Well-kept examples with desirable battery and trim combinations should hold up better than neglected ones, especially if they have clean histories and strong feature content.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.78/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E safe?

It earns 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard driver-assistance equipment is extensive, including automatic high beams, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist, automatic emergency braking, post-collision braking, reverse sensing, reverse automatic braking, adaptive cruise control with automated lane centering, traffic-sign recognition, and evasive steering assist. A 360-degree camera system is standard on higher trim levels, and Active Drive Assist is standard on California Route 1, Premium, and First Edition, but only available as part of a package on Select.

Because it just launched, crash-test ratings from NHTSA and IIHS aren’t available yet for this model year. That means you should lean more heavily on the standard safety equipment and on how well the driver-assistance systems work in real-world use when you shop.

Should I buy a 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 39.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 84% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.77% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.78/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Ford’s first-year Mach-E brings a distinctive mix of Mustang styling, strong performance, and impressive electric range.

The bottom line: If you want the earliest Mach-E and you find one with the right battery, trim, and condition, the 2021 is a compelling buy because it delivers the core design and driving appeal that define the model. If you are especially price-sensitive, shop carefully for the best-equipped example you can find at the lower end of the range, since the market still has enough inventory to reward comparison shopping.
