Used 2021 Dodge Challenger for Sale nearColumbus, OH

How much does the 2021 Dodge Challenger cost?

Prices have softened 2.41% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,364 listings available, which suggests you should have a workable range of choices.

Is the 2021 Dodge Challenger a good car?

Yes — the 2021 Dodge Challenger earns a 4.9/5 user rating and a 7.0/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Performance at 9/10.

Drivers consistently praise its power, comfort, unique styling, impressive technology, and strong driving experience. The Challenger’s appeal is especially clear if you want a car that leans into straight-line speed and muscle-car personality rather than broad everyday versatility.

The trade-offs are just as clear: handling is outclassed by the competition, the back seat is cramped, and advanced safety features are not standard. If you want a distinctive coupe with serious performance value and plenty of cargo space, this model year fits that brief well. Good and great deals account for 28.6% of listings, so there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2021 Dodge Challenger reliable?

Owners rate it 4.9/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owners also describe it as dependable in the way it delivers power, comfort, and a satisfying driving experience over time. The expert review reinforces that sense of durability by describing the car as a serious, high-tech dragster with a full warranty backing its strong powertrain lineup.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about basic satisfaction and more about how hard the car may have been driven, especially on performance-oriented trims.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Dodge Challenger?

At 68.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has performance upgrades or a higher-output engine. Focus on overall condition, signs of hard use, and whether the car has been maintained consistently.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base car is decent but not especially impressive, while upper trims add softer Nappa leather seats, contrast stitching, faux-suede headliners, carbon fiber trim, and thicker steering wheels with metal shift paddles.
• Powertrain: The lineup ranges from a 3.6-liter V6 to multiple V8 options, including a 375-hp 5.7-liter V8, a 485-hp 6.4-liter V8, and supercharged 6.2-liter V8 variants.
• Safety package: No driver assists are standard. Adaptive cruise control is optional, and blind-spot monitoring is one of the few other available assists.
• Infotainment: The standard system uses a 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. An 8.4-inch screen is available and should be the one to seek out.
• Fuel efficiency: The EPA figures cited in the review range from 30 mpg to 20 mpg, depending on configuration.

Which 2021 Dodge Challenger trim should I buy?

The 2021 Dodge Challenger is offered in 2 trim levels: SXT, R/T.

Here's the short version:

• SXT: This is the entry point, and it gives you the Challenger’s style, cargo space, and basic tech at the lowest price. It is the trim to choose if you want the look and feel without stretching for V8 power.
• R/T: This is the best-value trim because it brings the 375-hp V8, a six-speed manual transmission, an active exhaust, and an upgraded suspension. If you want the Challenger experience the review says buyers should begin with, this is the one.

The safety content notes that advanced safety features are not standard, and only a few driver assists are available.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Dodge Challenger?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you know what you want.

• Deal availability: 28.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,364 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.41% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 68.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $30,175, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Dodge Challenger's resale value?

The current average of $31,556 sits slightly below last year's $32,335.

That decline suggests the market has eased a bit, which can help you buy more confidently now but may temper short-term upside if you plan to resell soon. Even so, the Challenger’s strong enthusiast appeal and broad powertrain range help support demand among shoppers who want a distinctive muscle car.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Dodge Challenger safe?

The 2021 Dodge Challenger earns a five-star overall rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), but the government's tests mask the weaknesses of this old body structure.

It earns 4/10 safety score from our experts.

The Challenger’s safety tech is limited for the class. Blind-spot monitoring and adaptive cruise are the only other driver assists available, and the optional forward emergency braking feature was rated only at the lowest basic level. The IIHS results also show a meaningful shortcoming: the car only scores good in two of six tests, with acceptable ratings for roof strength and head restraints, a marginal result for the driver in the small overlap front test, and a poor body-structure result.

Should I buy a 2021 Dodge Challenger or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 28.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 68.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.41% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2021 model year keeps the Challenger’s broad powertrain range and high-tech dragster character intact.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $28,578, the 2020 costs less than the current year's $31,556 average.
• It is largely unchanged and adds new colors, extra interior choices, and a 50th Anniversary package for some trims.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of current-market availability, enthusiast appeal, and performance variety, the 2021 is the better target. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2020 is the more budget-friendly path.
