Used 2021 Chevrolet Blazer for Sale near Illinois

How much does the 2021 Chevrolet Blazer cost?

Prices have softened 11.02% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,199 listings available, which suggests you have a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2021 Chevrolet Blazer a good car?

Yes — the 2021 Chevrolet Blazer earns a 4.9/5 user rating and a 6.5/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 8/10.

Drivers consistently praise its sporty look, responsive power, and driving enjoyment, and many also call out its strong feature set. The overview points you toward a style-first SUV with appealing handling and easy-to-use technology, which matches the recurring feedback about its driving feel and everyday usability.

The trade-offs are clear: the interior materials feel cheap, the transmission is irritating, and value for money is weak. That means you should like the Blazer most if you care more about personality and road feel than cabin polish or bargain pricing. Good and great deals account for 30.1% of listings, so there are still some attractive opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2021 Chevrolet Blazer reliable?

Owners rate it 4.9/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a dependable-feeling ownership experience, with drivers highlighting responsive power and features that make the vehicle enjoyable to live with over time. The expert evaluation also describes it as a vehicle that delivers a polished driving experience, with a chassis that feels composed and confidence-inspiring.

The cost-effectiveness notes suggest the bigger ownership risk is value rather than durability, since the Blazer asks for a lot of money relative to what you get. For used buyers, that means the main long-term concern is paying too much for a vehicle whose appeal is strongest in style and driving feel.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Chevrolet Blazer?

At 71.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a close inspection of body panels, paint consistency, and any signs of prior repair. Because the Blazer’s appeal is tied to its style and driving feel, condition matters a lot: a clean example will feel more satisfying than one with cosmetic or mechanical compromises.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base L and 1LT trims miss some of the more desirable equipment, while the LT, RS, and Premier bring more visual distinction and available upgrades. The cabin is described as low-rent, so higher trims matter more if you want a more complete feel.
• Powertrain: The base 2.5-liter inline-four is underpowered and noisy, while the 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder is the better everyday choice. The 3.6-liter V6 on the RS is the preferred engine for stronger performance.
• Safety package: Driver assists include forward automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-keep assist, and automatic high beams on most trims except the L and 1LT. The enhanced forward emergency braking is reserved for top trims with the Driver Confidence II package.
• Infotainment: Every Blazer gets an 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Plus version adds navigation with traffic, 4G WiFi, onboard apps, better voice recognition, and two-phone pairing.
• Fuel efficiency: The AWD V6 returns 19 mpg city, 26 mpg highway, and 21 mpg combined. The AWD turbo inline-four is 22/27/24, which is better than the base engine’s setup.

Which 2021 Chevrolet Blazer trim should I buy?

The 2021 Chevrolet Blazer is offered in 5 trim levels: L, 1LT, 2LT, 3LT, RS.

Here's the short version:

• L: This is the cheapest way in, but it is also the least compelling because the base engine is underpowered and the trim misses key equipment. It makes sense only if your priority is the lowest possible entry price.
• 1LT: This adds a bit more flexibility than the L, but it still sits too close to the base setup for most shoppers. You should only consider it if you find a strong deal and do not need the richer equipment of the higher trims.
• 2LT: This is the best-value trim because it moves you to the better 2.0-liter turbo engine and a more satisfying overall package. If you want the Blazer’s style without settling for the weakest powertrain, this is the trim to target.
• 3LT: This is the step-up choice if you want more equipment and a more upscale feel without jumping all the way to the RS. It suits you if you want a nicer daily driver and are willing to pay more for it.
• RS: This is the enthusiast pick, with the preferred 3.6-liter V6 and sport-tuned hardware that best matches the Blazer’s handling strengths. Choose it if you care most about performance and are willing to accept the higher price.

For safety-minded shoppers, the most advanced driver-assistance features are tied to top trims with the Driver Confidence II package.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Chevrolet Blazer?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it pays to compare listings carefully and move quickly on the right one.

• Deal availability: 30.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,199 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.02% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 71.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $20,637, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Chevrolet Blazer's resale value?

The current average of $20,637 sits slightly below last year's $23,193.

That decline suggests the Blazer has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help future sellers if prices stabilize. If you buy at the right number now, you may have less downside left than a shopper who paid closer to the original market peak.

The flip side is that the Blazer’s value story is still weighed down by its reputation for being expensive relative to what it offers. That means resale will likely depend heavily on trim, condition, and how well your example stands out in a crowded used market.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Chevrolet Blazer safe?

The 2021 Blazer scored an overall five stars from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and in all three crash tests. The front passenger scored four stars in the frontal crash and the vehicle scored four stars in the rollover test. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) gave the Blazer top "Good" ratings in all crash tests, but "Marginal" and "Poor" ratings for headlights.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Driver-assistance features include forward automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-keep assist, and automatic high beams on most trims except the L and 1LT. The enhanced forward emergency braking system adds radar and is available only on top trims with the Driver Confidence II package. A driver's knee airbag is standard, but GM's inboard side airbag is not offered, and neither is rear emergency braking.

Should I buy a 2021 Chevrolet Blazer or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 30.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 71.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.02% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2021 stands out for its style-first design and easy-to-use technology.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $23,293, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $20,637 average.
• It adds more practical everyday usefulness and seats up to five.

The bottom line: If you want the better bargain, the 2021 is the smarter path because prices are softer and inventory is still healthy. If you are willing to spend more for a newer model year, the 2022 is the secondary path, but price-sensitive buyers should focus on the 2021 and shop for a clean, well-equipped example.
