How much does the 2020 Ford Edge cost?

Prices have softened 8.56% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,584 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2020 Ford Edge a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Ford Edge earns a 4.6/5 user rating and an 8/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Technology and Safety.

Owners consistently praise the comfort, spaciousness, and modern features, and they also call out the solid build quality and roomy interior. That makes it a strong fit if you want a practical two-row SUV that works well for families and taller passengers. The trade-offs are the uninspired styling and the underwhelming base engine, so it makes more sense if you value easy living and useful equipment over flash.

With 33.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitive price.

Is the 2020 Ford Edge reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback points to a generally dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with many drivers describing the Edge as a vehicle they can count on for comfort and everyday use. The expert evaluation also emphasizes that it is a familiar, easygoing SUV with solid build quality and useful technology. Ford’s standard advanced safety and convenience equipment helps reinforce that sense of confidence, and the available maintenance-friendly ownership experience adds to the appeal.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that some owners report technical issues, so you should pay close attention to service records and how the electronics behave on a test drive.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Ford Edge?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 75.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on any candidate and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the vehicle has higher mileage or incomplete service documentation. Focus on cabin condition, infotainment operation, and how the transmission and electronics behave during a test drive. If you’re comparing multiple listings, pay close attention to trim content so you know which safety and convenience features you’re actually getting.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The SE comes with a 10-way power driver’s seat, satellite radio, a WiFi hotspot, two USB ports, remote keyless entry, SYNC 3, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, Amazon Alexa, dual-zone climate control, and Ford Co-Pilot360. The SEL adds LED fog lights, heated side mirrors, 18-inch aluminum wheels, synthetic leather upholstery, heated front seats, a six-way power front passenger seat, a nine-speaker premium audio system, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. The Titanium adds 19-inch nickel-plated aluminum wheels, genuine leather upholstery, a 10-way power front passenger seat, driver’s seat memory, a wall-style power outlet, remote start, wireless charging, and a B&O sound system. The ST adds a bigger engine, standard AWD, and sportier styling.
• Powertrain: The standard 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder makes 250 horsepower and 275 pound-feet of torque, with front-wheel drive or available AWD through an eight-speed automatic. The ST uses a 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 with 335 horsepower and 380 pound-feet of torque and standard AWD.
• Safety package: Ford Co-Pilot360 is standard on every trim and includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, automatic high beams, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. Co-Pilot360 Assist+ is available on the SEL and adds adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go traffic capability plus active lane centering.
• Infotainment: Every trim gets SYNC 3 with an 8-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and easy-to-use menu shortcuts. Voice-activated navigation with pinch-to-zoom is optional on the SEL and ST and standard on the Titanium.
• Fuel efficiency: The most fuel-efficient version returns 21 mpg city, 29 highway, and 24 combined with front-wheel drive. AWD versions return 21 mpg city, 28 highway, and 23 combined. The ST returns 19 mpg city, 26 highway, and 21 combined.

Which 2020 Ford Edge trim should I buy?

The 2020 Ford Edge is offered in 4 trim levels: SE, SEL, Titanium, and ST.

Here's the short version:

• SE: This is the value play if you want the lowest entry point without giving up the core Edge experience. You still get SYNC 3, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, dual-zone climate control, and Ford Co-Pilot360, so it covers the essentials well.
• SEL: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds heated front seats, synthetic leather upholstery, upgraded audio, and more comfort features without jumping to luxury pricing. If you want the most balanced mix of equipment and price, this is the one to target.
• Titanium: Choose this if you want a more upscale cabin with genuine leather, memory seating, wireless charging, and the B&O audio system. It makes sense if you care more about comfort and premium touches than keeping the budget tight.
• ST: This is the performance choice, with the 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6, standard AWD, and sportier tuning. It suits you if you want the quickest and most engaging Edge rather than the most economical one.

Ford Co-Pilot360 comes standard on every trim, while Co-Pilot360 Assist+ is available on the SEL and above.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Ford Edge?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on the right listing.

• Deal availability: 33.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,584 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.56% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 75.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $16,492, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Ford Edge's resale value?

The current average of $16,492 sits slightly below last year's $18,036.

That softer pricing suggests the Edge has already absorbed some of its depreciation, which can help future resale stability if you buy at the right number. If you purchase near the lower end of the current range and keep the vehicle in clean condition, you may be better positioned when it’s time to sell. Strong equipment, broad appeal, and steady owner satisfaction can help support demand in the used market.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Ford Edge safe?

The 2020 Ford Edge received a "Top Safety Pick" rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) and a five-star overall safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), with five-star ratings in frontal and side crash tests, and four-star ratings in rollover crash tests.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Ford Co-Pilot360 comes standard on every trim and includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, automatic high beams, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. If you move up to the SEL, you can add Co-Pilot360 Assist+, which brings adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability and active lane centering. One caveat is that IIHS headlight performance varies by trim level, so you should pay attention to the specific lighting equipment on the listing you’re considering.

Should I buy a 2020 Ford Edge or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 33.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 75.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.56% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It keeps the Edge’s strong standard tech and safety focus while adding the ST performance variant.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $14,935, the 2019 costs less than the current year's $16,492 average.
• It offers roomy practicality with family-friendly space.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $18,697, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $16,492 average.
• It adds a few new tech features while keeping the familiar roomy formula.

The bottom line: The 2020 is the best all-around pick if you want the strongest mix of price, inventory, and standard equipment. If you’re especially price-sensitive, the 2019 is the cheaper route; if you want a newer model and don’t mind paying more, the 2021 is the step up.
