How much does the 2019 Toyota Tundra cost?

Prices have softened 3.80% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,598 listings available, which gives you a meaningful amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2019 Toyota Tundra a good car?

Yes — the 2019 Toyota Tundra earns a 4.6/5 user rating and a 6.3/10 expert rating. The model scores 7/10 across Look and feel, Cost effectiveness, and Safety.

Drivers consistently praise its reliability, spacious cabin, and comfortable ride, along with strong towing capability and solid performance. The trade-offs are familiar: outdated technology and weaker fuel economy. For you, that makes the Tundra a better fit if you want a straightforward, proven pickup rather than a tech-forward one. 33.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are still some attractive opportunities in the market.

Is the 2019 Toyota Tundra reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a solid, reliable truck that many owners feel good about keeping for the long haul. The expert review also emphasizes the Tundra’s proven, no-nonsense character and its durable V8 setup, which supports that reputation for dependability. The main ownership risk for used buyers is that age-related wear and outdated systems can matter more here than on newer rivals.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Toyota Tundra?

At 60.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection. Focus on body condition, signs of prior repair, and whether the truck’s age-related wear matches the mileage and asking price. Because the Tundra’s appeal is tied to its durability and straightforward design, condition matters a lot when you’re shopping used.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base SR includes heated mirrors, a windshield wiper de-icer, a damped tailgate, an integrated trailer-brake controller, forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, auto high beams, a 6.1-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth, and a 6-speaker stereo with a CD player. Higher trims add navigation, traffic info, foglights, leather front bucket seats with power, dual-zone auto climate control, a power-sliding rear window, a 12-speaker JBL stereo, LED daytime running lights, and TRD Pro-specific suspension and off-road hardware.
• Powertrain: The truck uses V8 power, with a 4.6-liter V8 making 310 hp and 327 lb-ft of torque, and a larger 5.7-liter V8 available for more power and capability. The smaller engine is rated at 15 mpg city and 19 highway in rear-wheel-drive form.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, auto high beams, and a drowsiness monitor. Blind-spot monitoring with cross-traffic alert is not available on the base SR or the TRD Pro.
• Infotainment: The base truck gets a 6.1-inch touchscreen with Bluetooth, while the SR5 upgrades to a 7-inch screen with navigation and traffic info. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are not available.
• Fuel efficiency: The 4.6-liter V8 with rear-wheel drive is rated at 15 mpg city and 19 highway. The larger V8 is described as only a small penalty at the pump, but no separate figure is stated here.

Which 2019 Toyota Tundra trim should I buy?

The 2019 Toyota Tundra is offered in 6 trim levels: SR, SR5, Limited, Platinum, 1794 Edition, TRD Pro.

Here's the short version:

• SR: This is the value starting point if you want the Tundra’s core strengths without paying for extras. You still get a strong safety suite, a 6.1-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth, and useful work-truck features, making it the best-value trim for many buyers.
• SR5: This trim adds a 7-inch touchscreen with navigation and traffic info, plus foglights and variable-intermittent windshield wipers. It’s the sensible step up if you want a better daily-driving experience without jumping into luxury pricing.
• Limited: This is the comfort-focused choice, with leather front bucket seats with power, dual-zone automatic climate control, navigation, and an auto-dimming rear-view mirror. It suits you if you want a more upscale cabin and are willing to pay for it.
• Platinum: This trim leans into luxury with a sunroof, heated and cooled front seats with driver memory, an upgraded JBL stereo, and LED daytime running lights. It’s for buyers who want the most premium feel in the lineup.
• 1794 Edition: This trim shares the same luxury equipment as the Platinum but adds its own styling character. Choose it if you want the upscale features with a more distinctive look.
• TRD Pro: This is the off-road-focused trim, with a 2-inch raised suspension, off-road tires, forged BBS wheels, Fox shocks, a skid plate, and TRD-specific styling. It’s the right pick if you want the most capability and personality, but it also carries a much higher price.

Blind-spot monitoring with cross-traffic alert is unavailable on the base SR and the TRD Pro.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Toyota Tundra?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 33.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,598 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.80% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 60.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $33,168, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Toyota Tundra's resale value?

The current average of $33,261 sits slightly below last year's $34,576.

That softer pricing trend suggests the Tundra has already absorbed some depreciation, which can help if you buy now and later resell into a market that still values full-size trucks. The current range also shows that well-priced examples are still moving in a fairly tight band, so condition and trim will matter a lot when you eventually sell. If you keep mileage reasonable and maintain the truck well, you should be in a better position to preserve value.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2019 Toyota Tundra safe?

The 2019 Toyota Tundra earns four-star ratings in frontal crash and three-star rollover ratings from NHTSA, and five-star ratings in side crash tests. It also earns a Top Safety Pick+ designation from IIHS, though the test results include Marginal ratings for the headlights and driver-side small overlap front test, plus a Poor rating in the passenger-side small overlap front test.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Toyota makes adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, auto high beams, and a drowsiness monitor standard. Blind-spot monitoring with cross-traffic alert is also part of the safety story, though it is not available on the base SR or the TRD Pro. The main caveat is that some of the driver-assistance systems feel dated and can be overly intrusive.

Should I buy a 2019 Toyota Tundra or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 33.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 60.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.80% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The TRD Pro returns with a revised suspension and new BBS wheels.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $36,389, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $33,261 average.
• It emphasizes reliability even more strongly.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2019 is the smarter starting point because pricing has eased and inventory is available. If long-term reliability is your top priority and you’re willing to pay more, the 2020 is the cleaner alternative. For most price-sensitive buyers, the 2019 gives you the stronger shopping case.
