At 59.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from cars with prior damage or repeated claims. Because this model is valued for comfort and refinement, you should focus on signs of wear, repair quality, and whether the car still feels quiet and well-kept.

What is the 2019 Lexus ES's resale value?

The current average of $27,014 sits slightly below last year's $27,800.

That price movement suggests the model has softened a bit in the used market, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point. For a future seller, that also means resale performance may depend more on condition, mileage, and how well the car has been maintained. Well-kept examples should still draw interest because the ES has a strong reputation with shoppers who want comfort and luxury without drama.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Lexus ES or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 38.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 59.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.83% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $29,207, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $27,014 average.
• It adds in-cabin tech features.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2019 if you want the better value and are comfortable shopping carefully for condition. If you want newer tech and are willing to pay more, the 2020 is the cleaner upgrade path. For price-sensitive buyers, the 2019 remains the smarter starting point.
