Is the 2019 Chevrolet Cruze a good car?

The 2019 Chevrolet Cruze is a balanced choice if you want a compact sedan with comfort, safety equipment, and practical everyday usability, and its 3/5 user rating reflects that middle-ground appeal. The overview points to strong safety equipment, solid road manners, and useful features like a standard seven-inch touchscreen, while also noting that it can feel slow and its tech is dated by modern standards. If you value a comfortable commuter with uncommon powertrain choices and available hatchback versatility, it fits that use case well. There are 27.2% of listings priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2019 Chevrolet Cruze reliable?

The 2019 Chevrolet Cruze is presented as a well-equipped compact car with strong safety equipment and a comfortable, composed driving character. The overview also emphasizes that Chevrolet made it more polished for 2019 with a mild refresh, standard seven-inch touchscreen, and the ability to disable stop-start. For long-term ownership, you should still weigh how the car’s age and condition may affect maintenance needs, especially if you plan to keep it for many years.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Chevrolet Cruze?

At 56.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report on any promising listing and confirm whether prior damage was cosmetic or structural. Put inspection priority on body panels, alignment, tire wear, and signs of uneven repairs, then focus on overall condition rather than mileage alone. Because this model year can be a strong value, the best examples are the ones with clean records and clear maintenance history.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Chevrolet Cruze?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on the best-priced examples.

• Deal availability: 27.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 724 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.55% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 56.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $10,339, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Chevrolet Cruze's resale value?

The current average of $10,339 sits slightly below last year's $10,947.

That softer pricing suggests the Cruze is currently a buyer-friendly used car, but it also means future resale gains may be limited if the market stays soft. If you buy well now, you can reduce your upfront cost, but you should not expect strong appreciation later. For a future seller, condition and documentation will matter more than market momentum.

Should I buy a 2019 Chevrolet Cruze or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 27.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 56.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.55% compared with last year.

Consider the 2018 if:

• At $9,941, the 2018 costs less than the current year's $10,339 average.
• It stands out for its diesel availability and smooth, efficient driving character.

The bottom line:
Choose the 2019 if you want the more polished version of the Cruze with stronger shopping leverage and a broader set of available listings. If your priority is saving money upfront, the 2018 is the better secondary path, especially if you find a clean example with the features you want.
