There are 940 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2018 Kia Soul a good car?

Yes — the 2018 Kia Soul earns a 4.67/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its reliability, great value for the price, and enjoyable style and features. That fits the Soul’s role as a quirky, practical subcompact hatchback with generous interior space and a value-conscious personality. With 28.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2018 Kia Soul reliable?

Owners rate it 4.67/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback specifically calls out reliability, and many drivers describe the Soul as a dependable, trouble-free choice that delivers strong value over time. The same feedback also ties its appeal to long-term usefulness rather than flash alone. For used buyers, that means the main ownership risk is less about the model’s basic appeal and more about finding one that has been maintained well and not worn down by age or neglect.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Kia Soul?

At 53.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection on any car that looks especially clean or unusually cheap. Focus on condition details that matter in daily use, including pedal area comfort, tire equipment, and signs of past bodywork or repair quality. If a listing has a strong price but questionable history, the inspection should carry extra weight.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Kia Soul?

This looks like a moderate market where selective buyers can still find value if they compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 28.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 940 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.23% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 53.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $9,975, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Kia Soul's resale value?

The current average of $10,036 sits slightly below last year's $10,479.

That softer pricing suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point. For a future seller, it also means resale value may depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the car presents against similar listings. A clean history and strong maintenance record should matter more when you eventually go to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.67/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Kia Soul or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 28.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 53.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.23% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.67/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2017 if:

• At $8,863, the 2017 costs less than the current year's $10,036 average.
• It adds an optional turbocharged engine and updated looks.

The bottom line: Choose the 2018 if you want the stronger current-market balance of price, owner satisfaction, and shopping flexibility. If your priority is spending less upfront, the 2017 is the better value path, especially if you find one in good condition with the features you want.
