Is the 2018 Audi A5 a good car?

Yes — the 2018 Audi A5 earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to very strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its elegant design, impressive handling, and advanced features, and many also like its sporty yet luxurious feel and roomy interior compared with competitors. The A5’s broad appeal is reinforced by its use-case flexibility, since it blends stylish coupe character with more everyday usability than many shoppers expect from this class. Is the 2018 Audi A5 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owners describe the 2018 Audi A5 as reliable, dependable, and trouble-free in the ways that matter most for everyday ownership, with many saying they can count on its upscale feel and strong all-around performance. The owner feedback also points to a car that delivers a consistent premium experience over time, especially when it has been well cared for. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about the model’s appeal and more about finding one that has been maintained properly and purchased in good condition.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Audi A5?

At 62.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can confirm accident records, title status, and ownership history before you commit. After that, prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has visible wear, uneven panel gaps, or signs of inconsistent repair quality. Because condition varies across the market, focus on the overall state of the body, interior, and maintenance records rather than relying on photos alone.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Audi A5?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 35.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 235 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.98% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 62.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $18,991, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Audi A5's resale value?

The current average of $19,024 sits slightly below last year's $20,673.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can make resale a little less favorable than it was a year ago. If you buy now, your future resale value will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and whether the car has a clean history. Well-kept examples should still hold appeal because the model has strong styling and broad buyer interest.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Audi A5 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 35.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 62.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.98% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: You should focus on the 2018 if you want the redesigned A5’s stronger everyday usability, premium cabin, and broad owner approval. If your priority is stretching your budget, a nearby year may be worth comparing, but the 2018 remains the better all-around pick when you want a newer-feeling package with solid market availability.
