How much does the 2017 Subaru WRX cost?

There are 589 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2017 Subaru WRX a good car?

Yes — the 4.67/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise the WRX for its exciting performance, impressive handling, acceleration, and all-wheel-drive capability. The model’s rally-bred personality and everyday usability also make it appealing if you want a practical sport compact that still feels special. With 29.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2017 Subaru WRX reliable?

Owners rate it 4.67/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a car that many drivers feel confident living with over time, especially when it comes to all-wheel-drive capability and overall dependability. That said, used buyers should still pay close attention to maintenance history and condition, since long-term ownership risk is always higher when a performance-oriented car has had a hard life.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Subaru WRX?

At 54.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection from a mechanic who knows performance cars. Focus on signs of hard use, uneven wear, and any evidence that the car was modified or poorly maintained.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Subaru WRX?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on the best examples.

• Deal availability: 29.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 589 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.89% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 54.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $15,209, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Subaru WRX's resale value?

The current average of $15,209 sits slightly below last year's $16,161.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can help you buy more carefully now but may also limit short-term upside if you plan to resell soon. For a future seller, the key will be keeping the car in strong condition and documenting maintenance, since buyers in this segment tend to reward clean history and well-kept examples.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.67/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Subaru WRX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 29.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 54.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.89% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.67/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $14,559, the 2016 costs less than the current year's $15,209 average.
• It emphasizes strong performance with everyday usefulness.

The bottom line: If you want the better-balanced current-year shopping target, the 2017 is the stronger primary choice because it combines a lower-than-last-year price trend with solid owner satisfaction and meaningful inventory. If your main goal is to spend less up front, the 2016 is the better secondary path, especially if you find one in clean condition with good maintenance records.
