Used 2017 Subaru BRZ for SaleNationwide

How much does the 2017 Subaru BRZ cost?

Prices have softened 5.80% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 117 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2017 Subaru BRZ a good car?

Yes — the 2017 Subaru BRZ earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. The overview describes it as a lightweight, rear-wheel-drive sports coupe that prioritizes balance and driver involvement over straight-line speed, so it fits you best if you want a focused, engaging driving experience rather than big acceleration. It also highlights the six-speed manual transmission, crisp chassis, and available Performance Package as part of its appeal. With 30.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2017 Subaru BRZ reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The overview suggests a car built around a simple, enthusiast-focused formula: lightweight construction, rear-wheel drive, and a manual transmission. That kind of setup can be appealing if you want a straightforward sports coupe, but it also means you should pay close attention to how the car was driven and maintained. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is finding a car that has been used hard rather than carefully cared for.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Subaru BRZ?

At 55.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was cosmetic or structural. A pre-purchase inspection should focus on suspension condition, tire wear, brake wear, and signs of hard driving, since this model’s enthusiast appeal can attract spirited use. It also makes sense to prioritize overall condition and maintenance records over mileage alone.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Subaru BRZ?

This looks like a moderate market, so you can be selective without expecting a deep buyer’s market.

• Deal availability: 30.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 117 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.80% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 55.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $18,770, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Subaru BRZ's resale value?

The current average of $18,770 sits slightly below last year's $19,926.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point today. For a future seller, the softer trend means resale value may depend more on condition, mileage, and documentation than on broad market momentum. Well-kept examples should still draw interest because the BRZ has a clear enthusiast audience.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Subaru BRZ or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 30.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 55.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.80% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2017 if you want the refreshed BRZ formula with strong owner satisfaction and a softer used-market price. If you are especially price-sensitive, you can also compare nearby years to see whether a cleaner or better-equipped example offers more value for similar money.
