Why it stands out
The 2017 Honda Ridgeline sets itself apart in the midsize truck segment with its unibody design, which provides a more car-like ride compared to traditional body-on-frame pickups. It features a 3.5-liter V6 engine that delivers 280 horsepower, perfect for daily driving, though its towing capacity – rated at 5,000 pounds for all-wheel drive versions – may not suit heavy-duty needs. The Ridgeline's unique cargo solutions include an under-bed trunk and a double-hinged tailgate, enhancing its practicality. Inside, the cabin mirrors Honda's commitment to comfort with quality materials and thoughtful design. Despite some criticisms about its price and the need for advanced technology, the Ridgeline remains popular for its combination of functionality and comfort, proving to be a versatile choice for a range of buyers.

We were looking for a truck for light hauling. Not for off-road. And I didn’t want to truck that looked all tricked out and masculine. I wanted a smooth ride, and a functional truck. We ruled out other midsize trucks because they rode like a truck. And as a passenger, the ride was unsettling. I prefer a ride like butter. Then we found the Honda Ridgeline. Because it is built different than the other midsize trucks, basically a truck body or an SUV base, it rides as smooth as silk. It doesn’t look like I’m trying to be young, or masculine or tough. It’s a classy looking little truck. The electronics inside blow me away. All of the safety features, and the space inside the backseat. It was exactly what we were looking for. I just didn’t know it existed until I found the Ridgeline.
