How much does the 2017 Honda Civic cost?

Prices have softened 2.09% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,655 listings available, which gives you a solid pool to compare prices and conditions.

Is the 2017 Honda Civic a good car?

Yes — owners rate it 4.75/5, which points to strong overall satisfaction. The user review summary highlights reliability, great gas mileage, and enjoyable features, while also calling out impressive handling and a spacious interior. That lines up well with its role as a practical daily driver that still feels engaging and useful. With 33.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a meaningful chance to find a competitive listing if you shop carefully.

Is the 2017 Honda Civic reliable?

Owners rate it 4.75/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The user review summary emphasizes reliability, great gas mileage, and a car that owners feel good about keeping for the long haul. It also points to a practical ownership experience, with the Civic’s everyday usability and value helping reinforce that reputation. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is making sure a specific car has been maintained well enough to avoid turning a strong ownership story into an expensive repair story.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Honda Civic?

At 46.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether the car has any accident or title issues. Then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on cars with higher mileage or incomplete service records. Pay close attention to overall condition, because a clean-looking listing can still hide past damage or deferred maintenance.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Honda Civic?

This is a moderate market, so you can be selective without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 33.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,655 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.09% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 46.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $14,869, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Honda Civic's resale value?

The current average of $15,245 sits slightly below last year's $15,570.

That softer pricing suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can help you buy at a better entry point today. If you plan to sell later, the current trend means your resale outcome will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the car has been maintained. A well-kept Civic should still attract steady interest, but you should not expect a strong appreciation story from this model year.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.75/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Honda Civic or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 33.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 46.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.09% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.75/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $13,803, the 2016 costs less than the current year's $15,245 average.
• The 2016 aims for a more polished, upscale feel without losing Civic practicality.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger all-around value proposition, the 2017 is the better primary target because it combines solid owner satisfaction, a large listing pool, and a softer price trend. If your main goal is to spend less upfront, the 2016 is the better secondary path, especially if you find one in excellent condition and can live with its older-year tradeoffs.
