Why it stands out
The 2017 Dodge Durango excels as a full-size SUV, particularly noted for its powerful V8 engine options, which provide robust performance without sacrificing too much in terms of ride comfort. Those opting for the Hemi V8 will enjoy not only enhanced horsepower—360 hp—but also impressive towing capabilities, making it an excellent choice for outdoor enthusiasts or families needing to haul trailers. The interior is well-appointed, with a focus on practicality and comfort; even the base model includes user-friendly features such as three-zone climate control and a modern infotainment system. While the Durango boasts seating for up to seven, it maintains a well-organized space that prioritizes functionality over luxury, catering to families looking for a reliable and spacious vehicle. However, it's essential to note that the safety ratings from crash tests have raised some eyebrows among consumers, making it crucial for potential buyers to weigh these aspects against its many strengths.

It’s a great vehicle. I love the looks. I love the tow capacity: I love the features and room. The 3.6/8 speed is a great combo. But… the small offset crash rating is a disaster. And as a dad of teens it made me cross it off my list. Why hasn’t dodge addresses this? Even mitigated it?
