How much does the 2017 Chevrolet Traverse cost?

There are 1,861 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2017 Chevrolet Traverse a good car?

Yes — the 2017 Chevrolet Traverse earns a 4.8/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its space, comfort, and style, and many also like the powerful performance and all-wheel drive for different weather conditions. That lines up well with its family-focused role as a roomy three-row crossover with a huge cabin and practical cargo space. With 29.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a value-oriented example.

Is the 2017 Chevrolet Traverse reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback emphasizes a dependable, easy-to-live-with experience, especially for shoppers who value comfort and everyday usability. It also suggests the Traverse can be a trouble-free fit for families who want a roomy SUV they can count on. Even so, used buyers should still weigh long-term ownership risk carefully, since condition and maintenance history matter a lot on this model year.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Chevrolet Traverse?

At 61.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. Put inspection priority on body condition, alignment, and signs of uneven wear, since those can reveal past accident or repair issues. It also makes sense to focus on how the cabin, electronics, and drivetrain feel during a test drive, because those areas matter most in a family SUV.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Chevrolet Traverse?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 29.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,861 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.27% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 61.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $10,042, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Chevrolet Traverse's resale value?

The current average of $10,171 sits slightly below last year's $11,335.

That softer pricing suggests the model has already absorbed some depreciation, which can help future sellers if they buy at the right price. If you purchase near the lower end of the range and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you may have a better chance of limiting your loss later. Demand should also benefit from the Traverse’s family-friendly space and comfort, which remain core selling points in the used market.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Chevrolet Traverse or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 29.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 61.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.27% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2018 if:

• At $14,782, the 2018 costs more than the current year's $10,171 average.
• The redesign makes it larger, more useful, and more efficient.

The 2017 is the better pick if you want the lower purchase price and a proven family hauler with strong owner approval. If you can stretch your budget and want the redesigned model’s broader improvements, the 2018 is the better long-term alternative. For price-sensitive buyers, the 2017 offers the stronger value play.
