Is the 2016 Ford F-250 Super Duty a good car?

Generally — the 2016 Ford F-250 Super Duty earns a 4.4/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its power and towing capabilities, and many also appreciate the features and luxurious touches, including the sound system and comfortable seats. Is the 2016 Ford F-250 Super Duty reliable?

Owners rate it 4.4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owners describe it as dependable and trouble-free in the ways that matter most for a heavy-duty truck, especially when it comes to power and towing confidence. The feedback also points to long-term ownership appeal, with buyers valuing its toughness and comfort together. For used buyers, that suggests the biggest risk is less about the truck’s core appeal and more about finding one that has been maintained properly over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Ford F-250 Super Duty?

At 66.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can screen for accidents, title issues, and inconsistent mileage. After that, prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, with extra attention on overall condition, signs of hard use, and whether the truck’s equipment and features still work as expected. Because this is a heavy-duty pickup, you’ll want to focus on how it was used and maintained, not just how it looks in photos.

If you find a listing below $25,401, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Ford F-250 Super Duty's resale value?

The current average of $26,371 sits slightly below last year's $26,420.

That small decline suggests the market has stayed relatively stable, which is helpful if you plan to resell later. You are not looking at a truck that has been sliding sharply in value, so ownership costs should feel more predictable than in a rapidly weakening segment. Strong demand for capable heavy-duty pickups can also help support future resale, especially if your truck is well kept and lightly used.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Ford F-250 Super Duty or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 28.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 66.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2017 if:

• At $33,529, the 2017 costs more than the current year's $26,371 average.
• It brings an all-new design with more modern technology.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2016 if you want a lower entry price and a stable market with plenty of listings to compare. If you can stretch your budget and want the newer redesign, the 2017 is the better secondary path for buyers who value updated tech and a more modern truck experience.
