overall

Summary
With 1,138 currently listed for sale and an average price of $24,266.00, 28.9% of 2015 Toyota Tundras for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2015 Toyota Tundra 4.18 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it a 7.83 / 10.

Why it stands out
The 2015 Toyota Tundra stands out as a full-size truck with a personality that is hard to miss, especially in TRD Pro trim. Toyota’s own description of the TRD Pro Series engine emphasizes a lumpy, chuffing, machine-gun exhaust note that was muted to meet 95-decibel noise limits, which gives the truck a more visceral character than many buyers expect from a mainstream pickup. That same trim also brings key suspension upgrades along with special detailing and paint, making it visually distinctive as well as mechanically more focused.
Even with those strengths, the 2015 Toyota Tundra is not without compromises. It is described as having a thirsty engine and a lack of key safety features, and the cabin access is noted as a challenge because of its height. Still, it remains a worthy alternative to the most popular full-size trucks, and its appeal is reinforced by owner feedback praising its power, reliability, comfortable ride, and strong towing and heavy-work performance. Fuel economy and interior features are the main areas where some buyers may find it less competitive.

I absolutely love my new truck. It is quite an upgrade from my last one. It drives fantastic and looks just as good

Reviewed a 2015 Toyota Tundra on Dec 23, 2025
The 2015 Toyota Tundra is an exceptionally solid, dependable truck that prioritizes durability and long-term reliability over flashy trends. The 5.7L V8 is smooth, powerful, and proven, making it excellent for towing, hauling, and everyday driving. The ride is comfortable for a full-size truck, and the interior—especially in higher trims like the 1794 Edition—feels well-built and thoughtfully designed. This truck really shines in build quality and longevity. It’s a great value for anyone who plans to keep their vehicle for many years rather than constantly upgrading. While it doesn’t have the latest infotainment tech or fuel efficiency of newer models, what it offers instead is peace of mind, simplicity, and strength. I would compare it to the Ford F-150 or Ram 1500 of the same era, but the Tundra stands out for reliability and low long-term ownership costs. If you want a truck that just works, this is it.

Is the 2015 Toyota Tundra a good car?
Generally — the 2015 Toyota Tundra earns a 4.18/5 user rating and a 7.83/10 expert rating, which points to a truck that resonates with shoppers and testers alike. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Technology.
Drivers consistently praise its power, reliability, and comfortable ride, and they also call out its strength for towing and heavy work. In use-case terms, that makes it a strong fit if you want a full-size truck that can handle worksite duty and weekend hauling without feeling flimsy. With 26.5% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have room to shop carefully.
Is the 2015 Toyota Tundra reliable?
Owners rate it 4.18/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction. Review feedback also points to reliability and dependable ownership, with drivers describing it as a truck they can count on for long-term use. Expert notes reinforce that theme by calling out reliability as a bright spot and saying the Tundra should be dependable over time. Toyota also includes a free scheduled maintenance program for the first 2 years or 25,000 miles of ownership.
For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that strong durability does not erase the cost of fuel and age-related wear, so condition and maintenance history matter.
What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Toyota Tundra?
At 56.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a hands-on inspection of bodywork, underbody condition, and signs of hard use. Because this is a truck that often sees towing and heavy work, you should pay close attention to wear items, suspension condition, and evidence of past repairs. If you are considering a TRD Pro, make sure the off-road hardware and exterior details are intact and consistent with the listing.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The TRD Pro stands out with Toyota Racing Development off-roading hardware, including a dual exhaust system, upgraded shocks, a higher ride height, a front skid plate, and styling enhancements. It is offered on Double Cab or Crewmax versions, and it is the most distinctive choice if you want the most character and the most focused setup.
- Powertrain: The TRD Pro uses a 5.7-liter V8 with 381 hp and 401 lb-ft of torque, paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission. It is rated to tow 9,800 pounds and carry a payload of 1,575 pounds, and the truck’s fuel economy is a weak point, with an average of 14.5 mpg in testing and official estimates of 13 mpg city and 17 mpg highway.
- Safety package: Safety Connect is not available on any Tundra trim, and the TRD Pro does not get blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. A reversing camera is standard.
- Infotainment: The TRD Pro gets a 7-inch touchscreen, navigation, HD Radio, traffic and weather data services, iTunes song-tagging, and a quick-charge USB port. It does not offer the JBL premium audio system found in other versions.
Which 2015 Toyota Tundra trim should I buy?
The 2015 Toyota Tundra is offered in 1 trim level: TRD Pro.
Here's the short version:
The TRD Pro is the clear pick if you want the most distinctive Tundra, with its upgraded suspension, skid plate, higher ride height, and aggressive styling. It is the best fit if you value a truck that feels more specialized and more memorable than a standard full-size pickup. The tradeoff is that it is not the most technology-rich version, and it misses some safety features available elsewhere in the lineup.
Safety Connect is not available on any Tundra trim, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is not available on the TRD Pro.

What is the 2015 Toyota Tundra's resale value?
The current average of $24,240 sits slightly above last year's $24,208.
That small increase suggests the market has stayed stable rather than swinging sharply in either direction. For you, that usually means resale value is being supported by steady demand instead of short-term hype. A truck with this kind of pricing consistency can be easier to sell later because buyers have a clear sense of what it should cost.
Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.18/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2015 Toyota Tundra or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2015 if:
- 26.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 56.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.18/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
- It pairs strong towing ability with TRD Pro character and upgraded suspension.
Consider the 2014 if:
- At $22,334, the 2014 costs less than the current year's $24,240 average.
- It feels especially well matched to real truck use.
Consider the 2016 if:
- At $25,064, the 2016 costs more than the current year's $24,240 average.
- It adds an upgraded Entune system and useful everyday equipment.
The bottom line: If you want the most distinctive version with strong capability, the 2015 is the right target. If price matters most, the 2014 gives you a lower entry point, while the 2016 makes sense only if you value its added equipment enough to pay more.
